New Super Smash Brothers - Suggest A Character

Well, with the announcement of a new Nintendo system at E3, it gets me to thinking that there may be a new Smash Brothers to come out of this.

So, I ask the question to all of you guys, in speculation, who would you all like to see in the next one? Any additions or subtractions to the game?

While I would love to see Megaman in Smash due to capcom being idiots with the MvC lists, it probably will be a bit tricky to get into the game. Probably more so than Solid Snake (was originally going to be in Melee, but last minute issues forced Snake to be introduced in Brawl) and Sonic (in games that featured Nintendo characters already, and already a massive demand).

All Megaman has is the demand, but who knows. Could be another Samus-esque character.

Personally, since Luigi is in it, I'm already set on character selections, but I would love to see the return of Dr. Mario (PILLZ HERE!) and Mewtwo in the next one.

I most certainly want Animal Crosser (I guess that's what you'd call them?) in. I really don't know why they didn't just let them in, they have everything to make it in the roster. I'd also like to see Isaac in from golden sun, another no brainier for most people and him being an assist trophy in the last game was kinda a slap in the face. Also I'd like to see more Fire Emblem Rep. mostly from the girls side of things, maybe Lyn or Micaiah. As well lets get Roy back in there, I don't care if he is a cloned character in melee because he can be remade to have a different enough moveset like falco or wolf. Also like to see Shadow Mario and someone like Fawful from the Mario RPG series.

Anyway, I'd like to see a few more baddies in Smash Bros. There's Wolf, Ganondorf and Bowser. Probably Metaknight and Dedede, but I never played the Kirby games. :( Also I would like Mewtwo back, as I liked him better than the blue guy. And since I'm a big fan of Star Fox, guess who I'm rooting for. (Hint: Any Star Fox character)
I don't mind having these "clone"-characters (Mario/Dr. Mario, Link/Young Link, etc.) as long as it doesen't affect the other characters, I think it would be great to have a very large amount of characters, although it would be a huge amount of work for Nintendo.
But proper suggestions?
Well, I can try:
Megaman, [Shadow or Tails], [Some F-Zero character], Midna or maybe expand the Pokemon Trainer with extra Pokemons, there could be some funny possibilities there since Nintendo has come up with the craziest shit over the years :p

Why shouldn't the 3rd part characters have a shot? If they had enough of a presence in Nintendo, they should have a chance.

Depends, when it comes to 3rd party characters i'll agree that Megaman and Travis Touchdown would be awesome (Beam katana fapping anyone?)

But from Nintendo's own franchises? That's a tough one, personally I can't remember any other character except a few pokemons, maybe Waluigi, Daisy, Toad and Bowser Jr. Those are I can think off from the top of my head right now.

Well, I've often thought about a few characters I'd like to see in Smash Bros. and there's definitely a few I could imagine working. As many others have said, Megaman would be nice to see there. There is pretty big fan demand and it would be cool to have another character who likes to attack from range with many different attacks. Plus, he's got a giant list of moves to pick from.

Despite the large amount of Mario characters, I've always wanted to see Paper Mario as his own character. Unlike the good Dr. Mario, he has more than enough different moves to not be a clone. He could have his hammer, have a couple moves based off items and a few others based on the pixls from Super Paper Mario. There are also numerous special moves to pick for a Final Smash. I just think it would really work.

However, my dream character to get in would probably be Banjo-Kazooie. I would absolutely love to see the two in there as I like those guys so much. It would be pretty easy to give them an entire moveset and they would fit into the whole situation pretty damn well. I don't think it'll happen, but it would be so awesome if it did.

Daisy I would like to see for sure as well. Right now she is just a costume option for Peach, but there is potential for some difference (See the evolution from Luigi in comparison to Mario. Similar, but unique in their own rights.)

And yes, Young/Toon Link should still be in the game, but with a bit more uniqueness from adult Link (aka, Ocarina of Time). Either bring in the Twilight Princess forms into Adult Link's character, or perhaps the Majora's Mask elements into Young Link. That would be pretty interesting to say the least.

I still love the Dr. Wright assist trophy. Hell yes Sim City! Perhaps have the Sim City Mayor as an assist trophy... *pop* METEORS! VOLCANO! EARTHQUAKE! Muahahah! Oh I love that game :D

As for characters I'd like to see in the next Smash, it'd be fun to see Professor Layton (hey, if MvC3 can have Phoenix Wright, why can't Smash have the Professor?), Maxwell (from Scribblenauts), Quote (Cave Story), and Megaman (I doubt it, but... sure, why not?).

If they insist on keeping Toon Link, I'd like to see Toon Zelda and Toon Ganondorf, too. As for Pokemon, well, there's not a lot new they could do, at least IMO (if they REALLY want, they could do... I dunno, Female Pokemon Trainer with the starters from Crystal I guess). Bringing back Mewtwo would be good, though not so much Pichu lol.

Returning characters: I think Brawl's roster should return for the most part. I'd rather not see Toon Link, since I think two versions of the same character is redundant, but I won't be surprised if he sticks. Other than that, it'd be nice to have Mewtwo back, and they need to de-clone Ganondorf. Seriously, he's a sorcerer and a swordfighter, not a brawler; he should not be using Captain Falcon's attack animations. That was by far my biggest beef with Brawl.

New characters: Krystal, from Star Fox. I'm still surprised Wolf got the third Star Fox spot over her, given that her staff from Adventures is basically a ready-made unique moveset (fire shot, ice cloud, quake, jet boost for specials, staff attacks and maybe the odd kick for normals). Someone from Golden Sun would be great too - probably Isaac/Matthew if it happened, but honestly, after Dark Dawn, I'd probably favor Karis above all the rest personally. After the immense demand for him during the lead-up to Brawl, I've become curious enough about Ridley (from Metroid) that I'd kind of like to see him too. It's probably just a pipe dream, but I'd love to see Midna (from Twilight Princess, in Imp form) too.

I'm having trouble coming up with many others though. All the big, obvious choices have been filled out at this point. Eh, maybe Kid Icarus: Uprising will give us a new character from that series worth including?

Third-Party: Mega Man, full stop. Get the Blue Bomber and you have all of gaming's biggest icons in one place - Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, Link.

Sure, I can think of others I'd like to see (Knuckles, for instance, or Banjo-Kazooie), but there just aren't going to be that many, due to all the predictable legal issues, payments, etc that Nintendo would have to go through to get any of them, so I can't really expect anyone but the biggest name to get through.

How far have you actually played the smash bros. series? I ask because both the characters in bold, star wolf / Sonic are already in Brawl. As for your suggests, I think Simon Belmont or Trevor Belmont would be a good addition. Castlevania tends to be more Nintendo based, and there is a nice set list for him.

Well, Liquid Snake hasn't been a true physical entity since the first game (I don't really count the whole "Liquid Ocelot" as Liquid Snake, as it's just his mind in Ocelot's body).

Also, I would consider Liquid as more of a mirror to Solid Snake. So for more uniqueness, I would rather see Otakon or something.

The Mach Rider music was used as alternate stage music in Melee and Brawl, and he's had a trophy at least in Melee, so Nintendo's at least aware of him. Not sure how he'd work out as a playable character though.

For Capcom I'd definitely say Mega Man. And CLASSIC MEGA MAN only. No X, No Zero, No Legends version or Battle Network or Starforce. The one and only TRUE (imho) Mega Man. Rock.
Not only did he cement a proven formula for platformers, in his heyday he was one of the few 3rd party mascots to get anywhere near Mario's coattails.

For Konami, well they went with Snake. The die is cast

For Sega, already went with Sonic.

For Hudson Soft they could go with either Bomberman, or Mr. Higgins. Both of whom would work

I can't really see many other's being up to par although I could see ONE third party character that
would appeal to lovers of esoteric games.

Namakubi! The disembodied head in Zombie Nation (NES) A game that was reviewed a few years ago by The Spoony One, and started the Naked Zombie Sean Connery meme

A cool idea would also be to have the Japanese Tengu face Namakubi replaced in the US version appear instead of Namakubi when you set the language options to Japanese. Quick somebody get MELDAC on the phone! ::thumbup::

As for regular first party characters, there are still hundreds they could use

Punch-Out!! - Any character
Metroid - Dark Samus, Ridley, Kraid, any of the Hunters, Space Pirates
Zelda - Low level enemies, Bosses, etc. etc.
Mario - Waluigi, Daisy, Toad, Wart, Birdo, Boo, Goomba, Mouser, Koopa Troopa, etc. etc.
Pro Wrestling - All of em! I'd love to use Amazon, and his outlaw choke
F-Zero - Any drivers not yet introduced
Star Fox - Krystal, Slippy, Peppy, Andross, Leon, Pigma, that horny Panther from Assaut, etc. etc.

After playing some Dragon Quest IX, and knowing that Square Enix and Nintendo have become quite chummy, why not some Dragon Quest character? Nearly all the games are on Nintendo consoles, it kinda fits.
