According to this Joystiq article (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/07/schafer-needs-a-millionaire-to-fund-psychonauts-2-notch-raises/), there have been some very encouraging tweets between Tim Schafer and Markus "Notch" Persson that suggests that the creator of Minecraft will be putting up the capital to fund development of Psychonauts 2. Although it has enjoyed critical acclaim, Psychonauts was not a big commercial success.
