According to this joystiq article (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/23/psa-gun-like-avatar-items-disappearing-from-xblm-on-jan-1/), "gun-like" items are being added to the list of things XBL avatars can't have or do.
I am wondering what politically correct, anal retentive Microsoft Exec was behind this decision. I mean, the XBox was launched on the concept of the First Person Shooter. The same console that brought you Halo and Gears of War removes guns from avatar items.... I have no words...

You are obviously not thinking of the childrens.
Plus, they are simply going the way of Nintendo.

This kind of shit is exactly why i hate the 360. (Well, aside from, you know, the shitty hardware.::playful::)
The Xbox is a great console, both in look and design, but the 360 has neither of what made the Xbox great. Ever since the beginning it was touted as being a "family" console, rather than a gamers console, and that's exactly what it is. Plus with this new addition of the Kinect, Microsoft is clearly doing their best to make it appeal to little kids rather than gamers.
I have never created an "avatar", and i never will. Fuck you and all your bullshit, Microsoft.

Most changes don;t just come about out of nowhere.
It was probably spurred by politically correct morons who are the vocal minority bitching enough until they get their way.

Yeah, some mother probably freaked out and rang Microsoft after finding that her kids avatar is holding a gun...::eyeroll::

I don't see why it matters, chances are they probably wont buy it unless they have played the game which would have violence anyway. And besides its just a gun its not like the avatar is going on a killing spree. Also I never played the normal xbox so I don't know what its like.
PS. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that avatars are just another way for Microsoft to get your money, apparently it works. Especially now that they are making games that use your avatars.
