Pokémon Bank has been officially put on hold for release in the United States, according to Nintendo.
The service, which was set to launch in less than a week, has been delayed due to server issues in Japan, where Pokémon Bank has, according to Nintendo, has caused most of the server woes that are currently plaguing the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Network ID systems. Subsequently, the Japanese version of Pokémon Bank has been taken down at this time.
A statement by Nintendo was released on their facebook page this morning.
This is essentially a continuation of the server issues Nintendo is currently experiencing. Hopefully the delay is a short one, as many a Pokémaniac are eagerly awaiting to deposit and withdraw hundreds of pocket monsters when they get the chance.
