A student of Literature and Religion at Florida State University, Austin Yorski is a jack-of-all-trades around BT. He goes by Austin or Yorski (but not both), and spends all the time he isn’t reading or playing football on writing, editing, moderating, and gaming. He can also collect all 120 stars in Super Mario 64 blindfolded.
This podcast perfectly encapsulates how insane FE: Awakening makes people. Throughout the entire thing I wanted to explain to Austin why Chrom and Sumia are meant for each other, and why he should have paired Cordelia with Stahl because they actually talk about her blatant crush on Chrom, and she claims Stahl made her get over him (supposedly). He definitely made the right choice about marrying the protagonist to Tharja though. It’s a girl who is likely Satanic married to a man who is technically the vessel to Satan. How much more perfect could it get?
Also Yorski, if you want to see all the dialogue for everyone who marries just boost the support for all your allies so they can get an S ranking with every possible character, then save in one file, make one character propose, and save that data where they proposed to a separate file. Then open up the first save file, make that character propose to a different ally, and save over the separate file…Yes, I’ve been thinking about this WAY too much, but at least you won’t have to play through the game 47 times now.
Wow, I thought I was borderline addicted to FE:A, but thank you Austin for showing I was no where close, I was still able to take care of all my responsibilities, play other games, and take a few day break from it. Anyways, here’s what you should do, finish your playthrough as a female avatar, then just look up all the support conversations that you haven’t seen yet, there probably on YouTube, and if not they will surely be on there eventually.
Leon, because you mentioned Renegade Cut, and I’m not registered on TGWTG, let me say this here real quick: It’s a really good, creative show, and I’m curious to see what you come up with in the future.
Oh, don’t even think about replacing Leon! Balance! He at least sometimes pretends to be sane. Though I’m all in for adding Leon’s wife, because gurl powaaa.
Austin, last week i said you make me want to get a 3ds for fire emblem. Now you make me want to burn them all for safety reasons.
Also I’d hate to be friends with you cause you would probably get me to date every single one of your other friends to see all the dialogue.
On the old vs. new topic. I rarely get interested in new games these days, the newest one i own is skyrim <.<. I picked up ff vi, spyro the dragon and symphony of the night recently, and I'm having a great time with them. I haven't really played them before, so no nostalgia here. There's just a special kind of charm to them i guess.
BT podcast mentioned me?! is this a dream?! I wish I could shed a tear of happiness but I can’t so here is an emoticon instead ( ಥ⌣ಥ)
from the bottom of my heart thanks guys. I feel so special.
Next week on BT podcast, Austin begins trying to marry off everything in sight and Johnny becomes the happy husband to his new graphics card. Leon’s wife is left to do all the game commentary!
more seriously though maybe Leon should invite his wife as a special guest or something.
Yeah, I think Austin will become a Internet priest, marry himself to Fire Emblem, replace the theme song with “here comes the bride” and finally marry the podcast to a fish indigenous to the shores of Archanea.
I’m fairly new to your show, but I see no reason why “What’s Leon’s wife playing” can’t actually be hosted by Leon’s wife. from what I’ve just gathered, she seems like a very likeable person.
who likes hats.
Will Austin survive the week without forgetting to drink and eat because he played too much Fire Emblem: Dating Edition? Will Johnny’s new graphics card develop a conscience and kill him for his crimes? Will Leon be murdered and replaced by his wife for his hat or do the stories she heard of Austin and Johnny scare her away?
And what did happen to that place where the city where the Gravity Boner Full Leoned Inafune’s fictional niece used to be? Did his wife set off Megaton’s bomb to revengeance his hypothetical infidelity? Or did the Mayor call in the army for “cleanup”?
Tune in next time, as the plot thickens on the BT podcast! Where “the one percent” refers to the amount of time talked about videogames.
I’d say that the lukewarm reception to Assassin’s Creed IV has more to do with the hopes that the series would eventually lead into the future or that the series has kinda had a release every year since II and has hit over-saturation to the point where it will be fun, just not really novel anymore.
My main beef with it is that the series started out with Jerusalem, a cornucopia of history’s most beautiful architecture, design, and engineering, with a nuanced history that here in the US we don’t get taught. Because, you know, not Europe or us.
The II trilogy had Renaisance Italy. Obvious 2nd choice (architecture, design, history, etc.).
American Revolution… ummm… TREES… and uhhh small non-complex buildings…
… History that I’ve been beaten over the head with… just not interested.
IV! Pirates! More ship battles!
I don’t really care. An interesting history perhaps, but the Caribbean in the time period doesn’t lend itself to those acrobatics or design of the previous games. I don’t see running along palm trees, and the maneuvering around ships can only account for so much… especially half the time you would be on your own ship. I wanted feudal Japan…
Ok… other things…
I think the PS2 days were still subject to bad localizations, specifically the early games, and ESPECIALLY Konami games, since they really hit their Zenith in the NES days, but every generation they became a little more pushed away from the center of the industry. I think if not for Kojima, they would have been acquired by Capcom or so. Konami just does not seem to know what to do, or how to handle anything. I mean who seriously ends the storyline of a long standing series without going into a huge central concept that defined its later games? Oh… wait, that’s now Capcom, too…
With platformers, every nuance really adds something that can be explored, or lack of nuance in some cases. Though seriously, to hell with Kid Cool and the Seven wonder Herbs.
And Johnny, since you are the PC guy, How much would you expect the GTX Titan to cost in a year? I really want to build a new PC, since I had always wanted to participate in the master race that is PC gaming (though, honestly, I would still prefer consoles due Japanese and Nintendo games, except Y’s!… though my Japanese games have been getting much less Japanese-y), but between my dad never letting me have games like tomb raider and Warcraft and just generally never having a PC/ laptop up to snuff where I can really enjoy gaming on PC (hard to enjoy a game when you KNOW that you can get better graphics or framerate that doesn’t drop like a stone).
I would say Metal Gear Solid 2 is actually WORSE when you get to the deconstruction parts at the end. The rest of the game is bad writing, but the end is just viciousness. The end of the game is all about how Hideo Kojima hates you, the player, and wants to stop making Metal Gear Solid games. So many of the parts are just insulting and mocking towards gamers. It doesn’t even feel clever, like Spec Ops the Line (which does it so much better).
If I’m supposed to be in the Animus in the new AC it would be kind of weird, since I can track my family tree back to the 16th century at worst and to the 9th century at best.
And Austin, if you need to get that Fire Emblem addiction in check, try getting a job in a uranium mine in Greenland for a few months. It did wonders for a friend of mine and his “Vampire-The Masquerade Bloodlines” addiction.
But it’s a last resort.
- yes Leon is kinda of a dork, that is why he is part of this daring trio.
- I remember lotro where they talk to you directly aaaaaand yea even more so when your standing there with like 6 man it is weird.
- Johnny playing console games….. Hm never thought I’d see the day (though I got to admit I missed a few episodes (being sucked up by a games makes you forget the world))
- Riding a unicorn into the sun set? That is amazing!!!!!! I would like to play that!
- The water level in jesus glove sucks, especially when your god powers have run out.
- new section, Leon watches his wife play. Leons wife the head killer. Tell her I fear her now.
- For some reason I see Leon reaching for the PC and Leons wife roar aggressively Soooo Leon backing off slowly
- And no no no no, the Tomb Raider games and the movie where awesome. Lara Croft was my first (and only) digi crush
- well, well, well talking about digi crushes…..Austin dig scarcely dressed dark mages, because he thinks he can change them.
- We should send Austin to Fire Emblem Anonymous, respect for the game as far as far as I can hear there is a lot in it.
- Austin the Match maker. (and a little bit crazy)
- Well Austin just hope that the wrong people don’t listen to the podcast
- Don’t worry Austin, games can do that, live will be okay some day. in the mean time the worse it get’s, the more entertaining it is. Let’s hope your still free next week.
- Man this became a heavy show. Leon can’t game because of live, Johnny his PC blew up and lost his link to the world and Austins addiction is getting to him. Somehow I think Leon is better off.
Great episode, I can’t wait for the first horsebacked version of the podcast
Oh Tharja, I don’t care that you’ve been watching me sleep and stealing my hair, that ass alone is reason enough to marry you… Too bad the game wont let me! *grumbles*
Which really is silly. Robin’s supposed to be the player avatar, whatever you want them to be and all. Tharja is into you regardless of gender. Where’s the lesbian option, IntSys? You wrote it in, follow up on it dammit.
Well Tharja would just have to develop a hex that allows two women to make babies. A knocking-up hex makes more sense than some other stuff in the game easily.

I just wanted to Add that Johnny’s voice at the beginning of the video is the Voice of Kermthulu.
0:00:45 – Johnny’s accent reminds me of Bert and Ernie. How strange.
Boo, too late to edit ; ;
Leon, because you mentioned Renegade Cut, and I’m not registered on TGWTG, let me say this here real quick: It’s a really good, creative show, and I’m curious to see what you come up with in the future.
S’all.

“I’d hate to be friends with you cause you would probably get me to date every single one of your other friends to see all the dialogue.”
I seriously laughed out loud in my empty apartment like a crazy person.
…LIKE a crazy person?
Don’t worry though, we love you anyway.

I’m totally for Vira to come to Channel Awesome cause let’s face it noone goes on Nerdvice.

“Seduced By Ponies”?
Ohooo does he know. *diabolical laugh*
Oh Tharja, I don’t care that you’ve been watching me sleep and stealing my hair, that ass alone is reason enough to marry you… Too bad the game wont let me! *grumbles*
“Too bad the game wont let me!”
Why won’t it?
I’d guess a female Robin.
Which really is silly. Robin’s supposed to be the player avatar, whatever you want them to be and all. Tharja is into you regardless of gender. Where’s the lesbian option, IntSys? You wrote it in, follow up on it dammit.
Well I think I could live without Morgan, but a game without the innocent/evil bipolar Noire? That would be like not having Vaike! PERISH THE THOUGHT!
Well Tharja would just have to develop a hex that allows two women to make babies. A knocking-up hex makes more sense than some other stuff in the game easily.
Noire is the best daughter a guy could have: http://www.blisteredthumbs.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Fleshling.jpg
