When Aquaman was revealed in a trailer earlier this week I also spied a certain other superhero. Although I called him Captain Marvel, it turns out that DC’s New 52 relaunch has permanently changed the character’s name to Shazam, which was formerly both his catchphrase and the name of the wizard who gave Billy Batson his powers.
Comic books are strange.
Since these gameplay videos are part of Warner Bros. and NetherRealm’s Injustice: Battle Arena promotion, there is also some footage of The Joker and Lex Luthor fighting. You can watch that below as well:
Injustice: Gods Among Us is scheduled for release on April 16th, 2013 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U.
A student of Literature and Religion at Florida State University, Austin Yorski is a jack-of-all-trades around BT. He goes by Austin or Yorski (but not both), and spends all the time he isn’t reading or playing football on writing, editing, moderating, and gaming. He can also collect all 120 stars in Super Mario 64 blindfolded.

In today’s edition of RAD we join Birdman and Batman in their attempt to free the world the iron fist from a man of steel in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
Metropolis lies as a nuclear ruin and Lois Lane and 8 million other people have died at the Joker’s hands and Superman finally snaps. This is the DC fighter we have been waiting for since the somewhat disappointing MK vs DC a few years ago. Does this fighter have the stones to build up the fantastic reputation built by Neather realms MK reboot? Is this finally the true story based fighter we have wanted?
Prepare to choose a side in this war! Are you with Batman’s insurgency or under Superman’s regime?

Personally, if they’re up to releasing Scorpion, who isn’t even from this universe, there wouldn’t be a problem in releasing characters from other timelines like, say… Jonah Hex? And one of his alternate costumes would be the kickass Black Lantern Jonah Hex look.
Don’t call it campaign, it’s story mode.

I wanted to love this game but just couldn’t. Button delay, cheap ai, laggy online, star labs just got annoying and repetitive, cutscenes looked crap. The prequel comic is great though, I think they have written up to issue 24 so far.

Music Mondays revisits the band that brought us tunes from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Bit.Trip Runner.
You’re fired.
I shouldn’t be happy that Captain Marvel lost and I still don’t see how that happened. However, since “Shazam!”/Billy Batson is just a jerk…go Flash!
Lex Luthor in a cyber-mech suit vs. The Joker NOT in a giant Joker robot? That hardly seems fair.
AND THE JOKER WINS? When did he become super-humanly strong?
Yeah it does seem ludicrous that the Joker would be capable of fighting all these powerful heroes and villains considering he uses his mind (albeit insane one)over brawn since he usually isn’t very strong.
It wouldn’t be surprising if he makes it far in the tournament considering the fanbase the character has developed.
Even if he relied heavily on weapons and gimmicks, at least that would make sense (Joybuzzer, Joker Toxin, acid-squirt flower, a “Bang!” gag gun that actually shoots like in Batman Beyond). And I did see him use a few weapons, but that should be his staple, not his fall-back.
Nothing is ever realistic in fighting games as far as who can beat who. You look at the Lore for Mortal Kombat and it’s pretty obvious most the contestants couldn’t realistically win. Same with Street Fighter, anime produced by Capcom make it very apparent that no one aside from like Ryu can beat any of the villains, yet you can still beat the game with whoever you want.
Don’t even make me bring up beating Super Saiyan 3 Goku as Radditz in a DBZ game.
Its the combat rage, things just were never much the same after Darkkahn tried to invade the worlds. Joker got insanely strong and was able to destroy the entire justice league. /sarcasm.
