“My mommy always said there were no monsters – no real ones – but there are.”
-Newt
I don’t think I could have picked a better opening quote to start this review of Aliens: Colonial Marines off with. We have waited years for this game and in today’s RAD we get right down to it with a man who loves the Alien franchise as much as he loves video games. The stage is set for this game with its creditability as the official canonical sequel to Aliens and a developer who created Borderlands… what could possibly go wrong?
Birdman sets down on LV-426 on company orders to go find out whats going on… What happens to Birdman when all is said and done? We will leave you with this quote and let you decide where this all ends..
“You better just start dealing with it, Hudson! Listen to me! Hudson, just deal with it, because we need you and I’m sick of your bullshit.”
-Ellen Ripley

Everyone is hating on this game
It deserves it.Had a quick go at it at mates house last night…i was laughing AT the chronic gameplay and horrendous A.I but at the same time felt sorry for my friend who paid full price for this bunch of binary bolderdash.
This is the only time I can think of a game that literally broke my heart
I’ve had relationships that have hurt less then this utter betrayal
Can’t think of a game that totally took advantage of a franchise like this
It’s damned fan fiction…
Man Sorry Birdman I feel with you i Still cant believe that they fucked up Aliens I mean Hows that even possible.. Well looking forward to MG Rising .
Probably the best worst game I’ve played in years.

Why is everyone surprised that a movie based game that’s been in development hell for almost 5 years turns out to be garbage?
Because you decided it.”Why do people walk with their tongues on Saturday?”
See how that works?
hey Sage did you hear? A SEGA employee who worked on the game told reddit that the reason the game sucked so hard was because all the money SEGA gave to Gearbox for the game got diverted to Borderlands. Basically Borderlands became such an unexpected success that they took all focus away from Aliens and kicked the development to other companies like Timegate.
Actually it was Gearbox that commissioned Timegate to work on it not Sega. They outsourced the work. But otherwise yeah that’s what happened and beside that Timegate erased all the predeveloped producted and started over from scratch. I already made a comment about this.
Looks like a great game
Dude, don’t be fooled
Duke Nukem Forever all over again.Gearbox are running out of excuses.
While he did show some footage I can’t believe he never talked about (what I feel) is the worst and yet best part of this game…the bugs! It’s been a long time since I saw a game this glitchy. But it never really got me mad because they were absolutely hilarious XD
Oh and I would recommend playing with friends because at least you’ll be able to share the pain.
Details about the production of this game have gone out in detail and its obvious from the Demo that was released this is not the same game they intended to make. Gearbox was working on Borderlands 2 during this and they had Time gate work on this game since they had to devote time to that. When they got the game back they learned that all of their pre-production materials had been wiped out and that they had essentially built a new game, it was clunky, full of errors and on top of that they tried to add more featured that fans had suggested be put in to the game. I believe like the original product of Duke Nukem Forever this would have been a good game its just people mess with it and put it off which causes it to be horribly managed.
It’s like Gearbox had to build a sandcastle but they were too busy working on their tan so they turn to their cousin who’s the black sheep of the family and say “I need you to finish this sand castle, I already built the walls so all you have to do is make some towers in the middle, maybe put a few little details like seashells on there” So then Gearbox falls asleep while getting their tan and they wake up to find the cousin squashed the walls and just made a big pile of sand with seaweed on it and to top it all off Gearbox has a wicked sunburn now.
Yep, pretty much.
Wow this has become a game that you would want to buy just to see for yourself how bad it truly is.
Just by looking at it, it looks like something that was made for the PS2. Heck some games on that system actually look better than this one!
Or wait for a couple of weeks then pick it up for $5 at your local store.
