Guys,we have a news update on the fate of Vigil Games. Now, unfortunately, there won’t be a Darksiders 3, or at least not anytime soon. They might not even pick up the Darksiders IP. STill the fact of the matter is that the core developers not only have a job but will now be working with Crytek:

Yes, it is disappointing that Darksiders probably isn’t going to get picked up, and the franchise may just die from here, sadly, but I still think that this new studio, Crytek USA, being created is a good thing, especially since I know they’re going to have a lot of the people from Vigil. I mean, David Adams’ team of 35 developers that are going to be at Crytek USA are all people who worked at Vigil, and so this is a very exciting thing for me to see. I think these groups working together is a good fit, and I’m sure we can expect to see a lot of good stuff from them in the future. I’ll be keeping a close eye on Crytek USA.
I sincerely hope that Darksiders gets picked up by someone. Although I somewhat disliked the 2nd game for its weird camera, crappy loot system, mish-mashed lore, terrible story development, pointless open world and unexciting executions, I did however love the first game for a variety of reasons.
I feel like if the series dies now, I’ll be missing out on what I’ve wanted for the past couple years which is the union of all four horsemen. Darksiders 1 made this franchise one of my favorites and to see such potential for fun lost would make me very sad.
There’s news that the head of Platinum Games (Atsushi Inaba) is interested in buying Darksiders.

With his tweet translated it says “In THQ studio and IP selling off auction, Darksiders is unsold? [We] wanna buy it…on the cheap…”
So there’s still a possibility there might be a Darksiders 3.
