Cryptic Studios’ free-to-play Neverwinter MMO has been in the works for sometime now but at last it seems that a full release is in sight with the announcement of beta plans and details on a new Founders Program being released. Neverwinter will have three major beta weekends upcoming that are scheduled for February 8-10, March 8-10, and March 22-24. These beta weekends will be open to players in both North America and the UK/EU and those interested in signing up for a chance of entry should head here.

So that is the Neverwinter Founder’s Program. I will say as someone who has been able to spend some time with the game in the past that I came away fairly impressed. For those unfamiliar with the game, Neverwinter makes use of a variation of the 4th edition D&D rule-set for added authenticity. There was definitely some potential there and I think D&D fans and/or lovers of The Forgotten Realms setting in particular may end finding a free-to-play MMO very much to their tastes.
