GView : New Super Mario Bros U Review,
Will the newest installment of New Super Mario Bros really step up its game? Well allow me “MaGio” to help you choose.
Also I apologize for the delay, I know it’s kind of old news now but it’s worth seeing just for me in the Mario outfit!
I’ll also be starting a new retro review/retrospective show on my new channel sometime in Feb!

Hm, good review. I’m glad someone else mentioned the music, I’ve played both New Super Mario Bros. DS, Wii and 3DS and the music feels like it’s the same over and over.
Love the Mario outfit and the cool stuff in the background, from the Goku figure, One Piece posters, Pikachu, to the Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 poster.
Nintendo afraid to try new things?? I realise New Super Mario Bros. U may tread a lot of familiar ground, but it’s the exception rather than the rule. Mario titles tend to pioneer the 2D and 3D platform genres. Just look at Mario Bros. 3, Mario 64 and like you say Mario Galaxy. All groundbreaking games.
Yeah but i’m talking about a problem now, not then!
Those were all different and interesting. But the last 4 Mario titles to come out have basically been the same game.
That game looks awesome
Its a very strange predicament I find myself in. On the one hand; I can agree that this game brought nothing new to the Mario franchise. However, I still had an immense amount of fun playing through the game. While the game won’t be a brand new experience to players; it still can be a fun one and worth your time.
AND to anyone who says this game has no challenge; they need to look at the challenge modes. Some of those are sadistically difficult to complete. This is coming from a player who has cleared Giana Sisters on hardcore mode and 100% cleared Super Meatboy.
I don’t think its fair to say Nintendo won’t take any chances with Mario based on their sequel to a franchise that is already well established. Sadly; sequels tend to be very much like their predecessors in terms of gameplay. Usually you only get a few new power ups and different levels. Not trying to defend how lazy that is; it’s just a fact.
As it’s been stated before; Mario Galaxy took the franchise to new depths. I wouldn’t count Nintendo out for changing it up with the Wii U iteration of the Mario franchise. They claimed to be working on a new 3D Mario; maybe we should give them the benefit of the doubt.
Lastly; I am also anxiously anticipating the new Rayman Legend game. I’ve played through that demo so many times and I am still not tired of those three levels.
Heck I think the game was bloody hard even on normal story if you were trying to get all the star coins.
This is my first Mario game, (officially, I have played on other’s consoles), and I really didn’t like it. Rayman Origins was just so much better as a platformer, and the Legend’s Demo outshines this entire game. The multiplayer is atrocious, especially when compared to the game above. I wanted to like it, but couldn’t in the end. Too clunky, and very very boring if you get stuck on the gamepad.
Oh, you want to be Luigi or something, (because you hate the other player I guess)? Better go get a second wand, or you’ll be stuck making little boxes, angrily screwing with the real player. Again… friggen Legends does better here too as you can do either/or on the gamepad.
MegaGWolf, I agree mostly on the main point of series: Mario games are really getting repetitive and unchallenging. The last game I played was New Super Mario Bros Wii and….. it was basically something I wasn’t missing that much. It was fun mind you (all the old Mario games were). I’m trying to get into the Galaxy games which , watching numerous of videos on YouTube, they ate incredibly amazing. Perhaps the best ones since Super Mario RPG (I played in the early 2000s on a computer). I didn’t played SMRPG when it first came out but I saw previews and the Video Arcade Top 10 tv show. a game show broadcasting from Toronto, Canada and its where I lived but never appear on the showcase SMRPG) and thought it was a different take of the Mario games.
I don’t know if Nintendo wants to take risks on their franchises and it appears people their games are their card to tell us that there’s nothing wrong about recent games like Mario that doesn’t think change will do any different. Thanks for the video.
