I loved the aesthetic and atmosphere of the Shadow Temple, but the Temple itself was too linear for my tastes.

Great list! God I love this series. If I had a list, it would include the Forest Temple for the abandoned mansion atmosphere and music (like you said), the Yeti Mansion in TP for uniqueness, Stone Tower (just a perfect dungeon), Ancient Cistern and that entire desert sequence in Skyward Sword (because sailing across a Desert as it turned to ocean beneath was so cool), and maybe Lakebed Temple or Temple of Time from Twilight Princess.

Though my least favorite dungeon of all time has to be Turtle Rock from Link’s Awakening. That place was a nightmare. I don’t remember much from the 2D games, unfortunately.

Good list. The Stone Tower Temple is one of my favorites, too, because of its dual nature. I remember getting frustrated in there in multiple playthroughs, but I always managed to get through it (sometimes earlier than I thought I would).

I loved Wind Waker too. Such a great game, and the tower of the God’s was a great dungeon. Shame I don’t know most of these so I had to skip most entries to avoid the spoilers. But I think the forest temple is my favorite out of all of them. It’s just the music, so atmospheric.

City in the Sky is an awesomely designed dungeon and although I didn’t put it here, the Shadow Temple is great too, through the atmosphere alone. It was honestly pretty hard to only pick 10 dungeons out of all the choices. There are so many good ones that I didn’t talk about here, just like the Shadow Temple.

Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask did indeed have some pretty awesome dungeons in them. And there is nothing wrong with just listening to the Spirit Temple music and enjoying it.

Actually, I did know that the Stone Tower Temple music is mostly palindromic. Makes it fit even more with the two different sides of the temple. Always have to love the little details, eh?

Yay 3 of my most favorite dungeons are on that list! <3 Forest Temple, Spirit Temple, and Stone Tower Temple were some of my favorite dungeons in the series. I even like the Arbiter's Grounds too but my top 3 are definitely the ones I mentioned.

… And I will admit, I spent a lot of time in the Spirit Temple just because of the sound track.

Also, did you know that the Stone Tower Dungeon music is a palindrome?

Great list Robert! My top pick for best Zelda Dungeon would be either the City in the Sky from TP (especially for its use of the double clawshot and the boss) or the Shadow temple from OOT (I don’t know why, but I love the creepiness of the temple), with the Spirit temple at a close second for its 2 partedness, the desert theme, and the mid and final bosses.
