I mostly agree with you on Aerith, while I don’t think she was a bad character, she was definitely a little bland compared to most of the others, and because of the internet, I was made aware of that scene numerous times before experiencing it myself. Still it was a sad scene and all, but I doubt I would have cried even if it wasn’t spoiled for me.

Aeris? Small pittance. VII was my first JRPG, and I absolutely despised it. Almost prevented me from touching the genre ever again. I don’t care how awesome an RP system materia is; the lifestream is such a big hippy it may as well be smoking weed. I mean…really?!

On the JRPG: It’s in an identity crisis. Japanese developers tend to favor Japanese audiences, which doesn’t just mean not translating them/ licensing them for the West, but also designing them to suit Japanese tastes and consoles…and portables go with that because portables outnumber consoles in Japan.

So unfortunately, what really needs to happen is for a western developer to start making JRPG equivalents.

Outtakes every episode would be a bit too much. See if you can’t topically organize three or four episodes so that the outtakes fit together at the end of the quarter.

Great episodes Shaun! The outtakes were pretty funny and I think it would be cool if you offered them at the end of each subsequent ep or as a separate vid for each subsequent ep. I’m kinda with you on Aerith/Aeris as a character compared to the others, but I don’t find her that terrible. I thought your episode zero wasn’t that much different from your current episodes. Also, would you mind telling me what games’ footage were shown in your episode zero (especially that first one)? Happy New Year Shaun :)

The first game was Tales of Graces f on PS3, the second was Xenoblade on Wii, the third was Ni No Kuni on PS3, and the fourth was Final Fantasy Type 0.

I totaly agre with you Tifa was a beter cjaracter, for me mostly becouse Aeres seemed like a fresh fish out of water, someone who doesnt belonged there…..
Before the death treats let me elaborate:
    Cload: Former solder
    Tiffa:Freadom fighter
    Yuffie: ninja girl
    ETC
SHE WAS A FREKAN FLOWER SAILS GIRL
For the atmosphere she was god, but for actual fighting she seemed out of place, as a character.
