Taylor Hoyt

Taylor’s love of the PSP flourished during his 1 year stay in South Korea. Whether it be on the subway, bus, or long walks on the beach, the PSP’s allure grew in Taylor’s heart. When he’s not playing games, he enjoys playing the guitar, making videos, and trying to learn the words to various KPOP songs. Favorite game of this generation: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Favorite game of all time: Persona 4.

I’m sorry, but it’s really hard for me to take this list seriously when a rhythm-based Final Fantasy minigame gets a higher spot on the list than frickin’ Tales of Graces f. And then you follow it up with Resident Evil 6. Resident Evil 6.

    Shinkara. What.

I know it’s his list but yeah, l would never consider a game made for the sake of commerce to be one of the best of the year. Also, l am a bit disappointed with the lack of love for acclaimed indie titles. Seriously, no Hotline Miami? That game is like cocaine laced with Ayahuasca.

Come on guys. Is the community really flaming Taylor for the games that he enjoyed the most this year. I thought, as a community on this site, we were past this.

Correct me if I get this wrong, but I’m pretty sure Taylor did say that these are the games he enjoyed the most this year. He didn’t say that they are the best games of this year since he hasn’t played every game released this year.

Didn’t get around to Hotline Miami, but I hear it’s pretty good!

At the end of the day I just had more fun with Theatrhythm than Graces f, and more fun with RE6 and than either. Also, TRFF is hardly a mini game. I put at least 15+ hours into the game.

I got Dragon’s Dogma solely based on AngryJoe’s lets play of its demo. Totally worth it, especially as seeing as up till now Capcom have been giving us the shaft when it comes to Monster Hunter series imo.

The indie scene has been especially strong this year, and I particularly love FTL: Faster Than Light. I don’t know if you’ve gotten a chance to play it, and it might not be the sort of thing you’re into, but I would suggest at least giving it a look…and trust me when I say it is TOUGH.

The scene pumped out some great gems this year. Lone Survivor and Hotline Miami are some of the most enjoyable games l have played all year.
