RAD episode 272-Scribblenauts Unlimited

Scott here bringing you a Wii U review. Today we are going to look at a game that I would describe to be an electronic thesaurus with zombies and explosions. If you haven’t guessed already we are going to be diving into the fun and creative world of Scribblenauts Unlimited. Will this game be as much fun as a pop quiz in English class or as fun as watching a movie based on that novel you didn’t enjoy reading? Just press play and go on this noun filled adventure with me to find out.

Editor’s note: I am absolutely buried under radio production work for various holiday gift guides for a few different stations so my able-bodied youthful ward Scotty will take the show for a few days.

Birdman

Mike Dodd is the guy who always said video games could be turned into a profession and eventually it turned out he was right. Mike is a passionate nerd about all facets of nerd culture from the love of the BBC’s Doctor Who to the very latest in the fight game scene, he’s on to it and likely turned into his new obsession. Dodd was raised to love all things that were pop culture from viewing his first horror movie at five years old to owning one of the first Nintendos in North America, it’s been a childhood dominated by the controller and movie screens and he couldn’t be happier. Roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons dominated the high school years and unhealthy doses of Japanese anime were frequent as he completed his education and took sometime off to explore Canada and the US. However as all good times must come to an end, a decision was made to get some experience and do something fun and learn something and meant getting involved in the media. Mike volunteered with Rogers Television and became the audio/technical director for several successful programs and decided that he should further that experience by going to college. 4 years and several massive headaches later, Mike became known as “The Birdman” of This week in Geek but that is a story for another website….

    “Technically third, but really second”
Actually, technically fourth, but really third. Super Scribblenauts was a very distinct step forward and is the real first sequel. I think they claim that the iOS version or something is the third one, but that doesn’t matter.

Ok, so I have a question. Seemings how I am getting ever more interested in buying this, I am at a crossroads with what platform to buy it on.

On one hand, If I get it on the Wii U, I will get Nintendo Exclusive content, some of which already exists. On the OTHER hand, the steam community is massive and has (and will) make a lot of awesome things that I would not get on the Nintendo.

So I need advice on what version to get with motivations as to why one is better.

Well the steam community would be a plus for sure and if thats what your really into then i would totally say just get the steam version. If it has steam workshop support then i would also expect there to be more levels in general
