SuperBot Wants Crash Bandicoot Too!, 9.0 out of 10 based on 2 ratings
SuperBot Entertainment Game Director Omar Kendall recently gave a lengthy interview at the EB Expo 2012 in which he finally answered the burning questions concerning their upcoming brawler, PS All-Stars. At about 17:30 in the video below Kendall carefully answered the most pressing query: Where’s Crash Bandicoot?
“We know the fans want Crash. We want Crash. Crash is not owned by Sony… It’s not for free.” That about sums up the whole situation, including the analogous scenario in which we find Spyro the Dragon (also owned by Activision). The other great part of this interview comes much earlier in the video, as Kendall explained that All Stars does in fact have an overarching story that will play out through arcade mode. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Kevin Butler is going to be the final boss, as I originally predicted.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be available on November 20th, 2012 for PS3 and PS Vita.

Someone is exiting the arena for good.
See Kat and Emmet in action!
Currently, Sackboy is one of the most broken characters in PlayStation AllStars Battle Royale. So to have a little fun, me and my buddy tried to demonstrate this one match while streaming. The following video is the hilariousness that ensued.

Now we just need Spyro the Dragon.
If this does turn out to be legit, there are some interesting choices here.
Music Mondays revisits the band that brought us tunes from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Bit.Trip Runner.
I was so excited about this game when I first heard about it but after seeing the character rosters in general all I thought was MUGEN. I know I might get get backlashed and I know Sony does not own all the characters. Still I’m half dissapoint. But that doesn’t mean I won’t try it out.
I’m thinking of Crash, Spyro, Megaman, and old Dante and co. sitting together and mourning their franchises. Legend of Spyro series was actually pretty decent, and I only really played the first Crash Mutant game, which was OK.
Sometimes I ask myself whether specific characters truly are what influences gamers to buying certain fighters. I mean, would Crash and Spyro’s inclusion alone raise sales for this game?
It’s hugely for the nostalgic fans because those to were the best things of PS back in the day.
Activision annoyingly got the rights to Crash AND Spyro. How it went was as follows.
Sony never owned the rights to either characters. Universal Interactive Studios always owned the rights to the characters, Naughty Dog and Insomniac signed on to make 3 games each exclusively for Playstation console. Whilst the contract ended after that, Naughty Dog made Crash 3 and Crash Team Racing at the same time, and whichever one got finished first would be published, that was Crash 3, but they got far enough in production of Team Racing to finish it off and that was the farewell for both of the original developers. That’s when stuff got bad. Crash did moderately ok, Crash Bash is alright. Wrath of Cortex however got plagued with development issues, the original game was going to be a Free-Roaming title. But a fall-out happened between Sony and Universal (Which was bought out by Vivendi and became known as Vivendi Universal) and that entire game was scrapped and they had to make a more standard crash game in under 12 months. Vivendi Held the rights to Crash, Sony kept the distribution rights to the original games. Poor Spyro though… Enter the Dragonfly… you know how bad Sonic 2006 was? Yeah, this game was WORSE than that, much, much worse than that. Mainly due to an even worse case of Winter Rush. It’s developers made that one game and were never seen again. Despite some moderately good games after that, the damage was already done. So Reboots where made. Which lead to the Crash Mutants series and the Legend of Spyro series. However, a merger happened between Vivendi and Activision, becoming Vivendi Blizzard in 2007. Spyro has since been used only to advertise the Skylanders series of games, and Crash has barely had anything for 5 years except for some cheap Ios games, and 2 cancelled games in 2010. Which were cancelled by Activision.
Anyway, I would want to see them in the game too, I bet Activision would ask for half the games profits just to let them in the game.
Thanks for the quick history lesson, as a Crash Bandicoot fan, I know some of the details, but some of the information you’ve posted are new to me, it’s good to learn about it.
I really hope Crash, Spyro, or both make to this game, they were a major part of my childhood as a gamer.
Few months later:
“Crash and Spyro DLC… for…. $2.99!”
Kidding but if that happens I will lmao
