US Senate Candidate Slandered for WoW Fandom, 10.0 out of 10 based on 5 ratings

Obviously the Republican Party are pro Alliance.

I still remember when politicians could get away with public bigotry against race, adultery, and whatnot. In fact, I’m pretty sure it was only a few weeks ago. But if you’re a fan of World of Warcraft is where the GOP draws the line! Democrat Senate Candidate Colleen Lachowicz has come under fire from the opposition for playing the popular MMORPG. Her boisterous blogging about her Orc Rogue and wanting to “drown Grover Norquist in a bathtub” has provided a sufficient amount of ammunition for the Republicans to sling mud all over her campaign in Maine. “Certainly the fact that she spends so much time on a video game says something about her work ethic and, again, her immaturity,” spoke GOP spokesman David Sorenson.

While the Democrats were quick to rally and point out how GOP Senator Tom Martin was toying around with the state’s public programs, it was surprising to see the Republican senator take the moral high ground and denounce the mudslinging. “Somebody’s personal life is their personal life. What you do in society and in the community is what matters.”

I guess many of the liberals on this site forget about many Democrats were bashing “violence in video games.” Like Hillary Clinton and Joe Lieberman for instance.

Anyway good for her opponent to say that is a silly criticism. The sad part about politics is there is no real difference in the two major parties, yet there are uninformed idiots who will say that one is more evil than the other.

…So the G.O.P. of Maine does this while the *national* party adds internet freedom as a platform plank.

    MAKES. PERFECT. SENSE.

The thing is no matter the party they all will lie and do what it takes to win or discredit the other party and if you think this is bad just look up the stuff the early presidents used to say about each other.

Pretty much, yeah. A politician with more concern for ethical behavior and legitimate debate of pertinent issues than keeping their job/getting their new target job is a rare thing indeed.

Did no one in that meeting raise their hand to say, “You know, insinuating people who play video games are violent deviants may backfire on us.”?

Would be funny in an ironic way if this announcement gets Lachowicz more votes instead

When republicans can’t find a real reason to criticise you, they’ll find a trivial one. And on the unlikely chance even a trivial reason is impossible to find, there’s always good ol’ making shit up.

Hell, even when there are legitimate reasons to criticize someone, they’ll resort to that. See the current Presidential election for the perfect example.

Senator Martin is prolly quick to denounce the mudslinging because he does something super creepy and weird in his personal life and doesn’t want people finding out.

And as much as I detest the WoW community.. if the worst you’ve got on someone is they play WoW and don’t even play enough to hit the level cap, you suck at your job.

For their next trick, the Republicans will reveal that a senator got a C in high school physics.
