Insomniac Games Releases 18 Minute Update Video for Fuse , 10.0 out of 10 based on 1 rating
As much as I am a fan of the Ratchet & Clank games, I have to admit that I am just as excited to see Insomniac Games working on a new IP in the form of the four player co-op focused Fuse. Sequels are good and all and I am sure that the upcoming PSN-exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be a great time, but I think it is always good when a company is prepared to stretch themselves and try something new and different. Not that Fuse is a complete departure from Insomniac’s past endeavors; the game is a third-person shooter with a focus on the creative weaponry that has become one of the company’s hallmarks after all. Still, Fuse is definitely its own beast and, if the just released 18 minute long look at the game is anything to go by, it will have no trouble standing out from the Insomniac titles that preceded it. Check out said video below.
I have to say, I really like that the video takes the time focus on who these characters are from a story perspective as much from a gameplay one. It bodes well for the strength of the overall story in Fuse and hopefully the narrative can be at least as interesting as the weaponry the characters will be wielding. Overall, the above video leaves me feeling pretty excited for Insominac’s first multi-platform release. After all, if nothing else, considering the iffy nature of their last stab at four-player co-op (Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One), I would imagine the company has something to prove on this front. Their chance to do so and ours to play the results will arrive in March 2013 when Fuse hits the Xbox 360 and PS3. Stay tuned to Blistered Thumbs for continuing coverage of the game and be sure to share your thoughts and options in the comments section below.

From the ashes of Overstrike comes Fuse, the evolution of a game by Insomniac.
“Fuse begins with an unlikely team of mercenaries” Yes, cause I’ve never seen characters like this before -_-
Seems like a very generic shooter to me. I know it ain’t finished yet, but judging from the setting, characters and story, it looks like another shooter that people will forget about as soon as it comes out.
I’ll admit that Lethal Teamwork and Leap look really cool, though.
I’ll admit that Lethal Teamwork and Leap look really cool, though… but it is still generic.
I’m a die hard insomniac fan, but this a stacking of current gen standards that nobody want.
