I don’t know if this happens to anyone else, but when I try to view this page in IE so BT can get revenue from the ads, the ad in the top right hand corner continuously plays through ads and there is no way to mute them. Each time the next one starts, they start with audio.

Also, I’ll play Pokemon with anyone at anytime! I’ve got a pretty good competitive team worked out.

Honestly, I liked the more Legend of Zelda focused style of the first Darksiders. But I would be pretty sad if we didn’t get any more, though I suppose an entry that’s a shadow of the first two would be worse. A Maybe was a good answer; just have to wait and see it first. Maybe focus on the gunslinger Horseman? He looked cool in silhouette, at least.

Well, for most purposes you could probably just play Symphonia->Abyss->Vesperia and get a good grasp on the Tales series. The earlier games (Phantasia->Destiny->Eternia) are more like a missing link scenario than direct ancestors, Graces comes from a line of games that weren’t released in the states, and Legendia is kinda off in the corner being an experimental throwback thing. There’s lots and lots of shared tropes between the different games in terms of storytelling and character archetypes, so playing a decent sample size of games will give you a general idea there.

God I hated Graces. Sorry, just had to let that out. Symphonia and Abyss were great though. Some of my favorite games ever.

I like Graces well enough (Weaker than Abyss and Vesperia, but still a game I played through quickly and enjoyed), but I can certainly see where you wouldn’t.

That said, Symphonia got me into the series but as time goes on I find myself thinking less of it. I fired it up a while back because I got talking about how the series evolved, and I was floored by how primitive it felt compared to Abyss despite just a couple years separating them, and the villain is probably the worst in a series marked by amazingly bad villains.

That said, if you count Abyss among your favorite games, you absolutely owe it to yourself to pick up Vesperia. If you play no other 360 games, play Vesperia. 360s are pretty cheap now, you could probably get one for about the cost of a copy of Vesperia if you shop around among your friends.

You guys ever tried looking for classic Pokemon games on eBay? How about that Shinygold version? Or that Chaosblack version with Meow on the cover? Sound pretty sexy, huh? But if you’ve never heard of those titles before, don’t worry, very few people have. That’s because they’re forgeries made in Hong Kong. Even some copies of Ruby, Sapphire, Firered, and Leafgreen are forgeries. They may actually be playable, but you’ll never be able to trade pokemon with a legit pokemon game pak.

It reminds me of Mitt Romney talking about China “not playing by the rules.” China manufacturers blatantly ignore copyright laws and make forgeries of anything such as tools, stationary, and video games.

EBay shopper beware, is all I’m saying …

Austin Yorski, you fucker! My father used to wear a tie like Romney’s! Some decades ago! When I wasn’t even born! I think I saw it on this old black and white photo once! My generic rage is totally validated now!

There, I just made your day.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy books are great but I forgot that it was originally a radio show first and the radio show is actually really great. On par with the books or better. I would definitely recommend it to you guys.

Yes, Brutal Legend is a great game! Flawed though it may be in its weird hybrid of open world car racing strategy game I loved and had so much fun with that game. The story is also very nicely done though the ending is a bit of a letdown. The humor you get out of the game is worth the first playthrough I think. Though Austin is right the material is niche and will fly right over your head if you are not in the know. But hopefully in that sense the game will inspire you to go out and collect some of the songs on the game which in turn will lead you to knowledge of the genre and its history and will in turn let you understand the games humor. It’s a cycle of metal win. Or you can be lame and not bother.

Hey I have a backlog of Dragon Quest games as well. Mostly the DS games.
