Always bring a friend or two on a nice stroll through the desert…

Kickstarter darling Wasteland 2 is making headlines again, this time in the form of an animatic of the pre-alpha screenshot revealed a month ago by Brian Fargo and his team on Facebook.

The video is short, and it has not been confirmed to be official, but if it is, it shows off some simple animation tests in the Wasteland world, with a small game-commentary demonstrating the various camera angles that would be allowed in the title. The in-place stances of Wasteland 2 is also reminiscent of many turn-based RPGs, such as Fallout and Jagged Alliance, so it is clear that the gamble for an isometric-style title is in place for inXile’s title.

Of course, no official date has been made for when Wasteland 2 will be complete. The estimates are October of 2013, making it a year out at this time. The question now is how will fans react to this possible animation video of the game they helped to fund. Hopefully it is nothing but good news on that front.
