This morning we here at Blistered thumbs received some interesting information from a new Final Fantasy fan group, called “Project Crystallis,” that alerted us to their mission: bringing attention to and obtaining information about Final Fantasy Versus XIII and securing a western release for Final Fantasy Type-0 for the PSP. The group is focusing on these two games because they are part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology which has been explored in Final Fantasy XIII 1+2. Despite being included in this same umbrella, we have not received clear information on the fates of either of these titles. Additionally, there have been murmurings that Final Fantasy Type-0 has been fully translated, but there have been no explicit plans to localize it by Square Enix.
The group has decided to adopt the tactics of fellow activists Project Rainfall, which increased awareness of several Nintendo RPGs, by petitioning Square Enix and spreading the word about the two games to raise interest. The end goal is just to receive clear information on the status of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and the possibility of a western release of Type-0. They are not trying to force the development team behind Versus XIII to speed up development, but “simply want clear info instead of the usual ‘Wait a little bit more,’ ‘Soon,’ or in this case ‘Wait till Next year’.” Project Crystallis stresses that they want to “simulate the peaceful approach of Operation Rainfall instead of the violent one like ‘Retake Mass Effect 3 ending’.”
The group can be found at the following sites:

So, what do you think? Project Rainfall’s model has been successful in getting North American releases of The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles, so there is definitely a precedence for fan communities and their petitions getting results. Project Crystallis’ requests are relatively small in comparison, so it would seem that they have a good chance at getting their information, given enough support. Please share your thoughts in the comments below and feel free to clink on the links above if you wish to support Project Crystallis.

Well, I guess I better try and make my campaign for an HD collection more like this if we can see it happening. I’m definitely going to support this campaign.
Yeah, I’d like a fair announcement on Versus, to be sure, but S-E won’t want to tell fans that much because they don’t know themselves.
Think about it; S-E probably wants to launch that “totally not Majora’s Mask game” which has 13 everywhere on “13-1-13″ in Japan and “3-13-13″ elsewhere. That only gives them three or four months to develop it.
Other stuff’s been shoved in the bottom drawer, Versus and Type-0 included.
Anything to get Type 0 at least, that one looks and sounds excellent
The general feeling I get over various sites is “Versus was always the most interesting” Can’t say I disagree. Seriously, why can’t they give us some honest info on the game? And I’ve been waiting for Type-0 for years; it looks great, so why not just bring it over?
Square Enix doesn’t want to do something crazy like make a respectable FF title.
its a waste of time
fan things like this dont work
rainfall didnt work, the fact those games got localized had nothing to do with the effort
I already agreed with the ones running this fan project that the thing we are doing could be a waste of time but its worse for us to stay silent and just wait for SE mister perfect to give us news when they want too
While Project Rainfall did not force the release of their games in question, I’m pretty sure gamestop would not have stepped in to cut deals to release those games stateside without the the knowledge of Project Rainfall, which was evidence of the demand for the titles. So, yeah, Project Rainfall made a difference, so why not another gaming consumer movement?
As much as I let it known that I dislike Square-Enix, these were the only two entries of Fabula Nova Crystallis that I really wanted to see released (even if I still hate Nomura’s S&M character designs for Versus). So i support this movement wholeheartedly.
I mean, really Squeenix? I knew about Versus long before I was ever privvy to any information on the original XIII and now you’re shelling out a SECOND sequel to that before Versus or Type-0 (formerly XIII Agito)? Get your priorities straight! I have more business sense than you, and I’m unemployed! D:<
So far, l’m kinda impressed by Nomura’s character designs in Versus. For once he didn’t resort to including overblown flamboyant outfits and lots of belts & straps.
Thank you very much for listening BT! other sites where pretty much banning my posts and marking me as spam
Oh man, like that badass nes game? I love that game, it had such a kickass world map theme:

Oh, you meant something else…well I guess I hope it gets enough attention, Versus looks awesome and I would love to hear more about it.
“What the hell is Fabula Nova Crystallis?!” should be the response given when you realize that XIII is the only game in that mythology that has gotten any attention. I don’t know how to feel about Vs. XIII but hears hoping this initiative will give me an idea of what to think. Good Luck to them.
*heres
don’t know how I missed that.
l can’t say l disagree with their goals. Vs-XIII is the only FF that has got my attention and since its announcement, we still don’t know anything about the game.
