Nope. The game is far from over. Why it has yet to even really begin.

SEGA’s upcoming FPS/survival horror title Aliens: Colonial Marines is meant to act as an official sequel to James Cameron’s classic action-horror film Aliens. Indeed, the game is considered cannon within the Alien universe and the developers at Gearbox were even invited to speak with Ridley Scott and view the script for his Alien prequel Prometheus during production of the game. So it only seem appropriate then that the pre-order bonus for the game is one that serves as link between A:CM and what has come before and in way that will make Aliens fans very pleased indeed.

That is because said pre-order bonus is none other than the ability to play as four iconic characters from the film Aliens: Private Hudson, Corporal Hicks, Private Drake and Sergeant Apone. And while it does not look like Ripley herself will be playable in the game, a pre-order for the game will at least net players the flamethrower she used in Aliens. Finally, a pre-order will also give players more customization options when it comes to the original characters whose shoes they will be stepping into in the course of the game. Check out a trailer for the pre-order bonuses below.

Aliens: Colonial Marines arrives for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on February 12, 2013. Stay tuned to Blistered Thumbs for continuing coverage of the game and be sure to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.
