So very pretty. So very, very pretty.

Capcom has announced that Okami HD will finally arrive for PSN at the end of this October. An HD remake of the 2006 PS2 game/2008 Wii title, the game will be priced at a mere 19.99 and will include full Move support. For those not previously acquainted with the title (or just looking for an example of the significantly improved visuals in action), check out the latest trailer for the game, plus a bevy of screenshots, below:

I will make no bones about it: Okami is one of the best games ever made using the classic Zelda formula. It is so good as a matter of fact, that it matches in quality some of the best titles ever made in that Nintendo series, no mean feat for any game. If ever there was a title that deserved an HD remake, it is this one, especially in light of the poor sales that have continually dogged (no pun intended) the game. If the above images and trailer did not do the job of selling you on the game then nothing will and that would be a shame. Mainly because you would be missing out on experiencing one of the pinnacle gaming experiences of the last decade. Okami HD arrives for PS3 via PSN this October 30 in the US and October 31, Halloween itself, in Europe and the UK. Stay tuned to Blistered Thumbs for continuing coverage of the game and be sure to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

    Y U NO XBOX LIVE!
But seriously this is one of my all time favourite games and it sucks that they won’t release it on 360

I really do like the art direction of Okami, but… honestly, those screens don’t look all that much better than the PS2 and Wii versions. I mean, they still look great and all, but the art style doesn’t exactly lend itself to a super-great HD upgrade.

Well, I couldn’t finish the game on PS2 after it broke and I didn’t buy a Wii so this will be my 2nd chance to play this gem..and this time I will beat it!

Every Zelda game combined x100 is not a fraction of a percentage of a fuck of what Okami is.

Not prepared to got that far. Not even close. Okami is one of the all-time great games to be sure but there are a whole host of Zelda titles, on a multitude of systems, about which I could say the same as well. Not to mention the clear and obvious debt that Okami owes to Zelda.

There would be no Okami without Zelda, particularly the 3D titles like Ocarina, Majora, and Wind Waker. Your opinion is your opinion of course and I don’t begrudge you it. Yet I also personally don’t see any need to denigrate one fine set of games simply to build up another equally fine game. There is room enough for all.

I dunno, I think Okami took what Zelda had and made it so much better. It had more original gameplay, it had more interesting characters and it wasn’t the same games as Ocarina of time. Because let’s face it every Zelda after Ocarina of time is just a remake of Ocarina of time and a better remake too. Wind Waker is dah shit and I want a Wii U port!

I know the game is six years old, but man, that trailer is spoileriffic. They were even showing clips from the final battle, of all things.

It’s always on the list people. List of Critically Acclaimed games that did not get the sales deserved. Great Games that no one played and many other lists of similar names. If you’ve got PSN now is your opportunity to get it. I’ve already got it on PS2 and Wii, probably getting it again because this game is amazing. Seriously. Buy this game.

I too have owned it on both Wii and PS2 and I too intend to buy it again on PS3. And I would buy it a dozen more times in the future to boot.
