Just yesterday trailers for the new Ace Attorney and Professor Layton games were posted online, but is important to remember that the next actual game to be released featuring both set of characters will be a crossover adventure of epic proportions. The long and much anticipated Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney is finally coming out in Japan on November 29 and you knew there was no way that Capcom was not going to have a new trailer for the game at this year’s TGS. And what a trailer it is, giving us our most complete look at this game yet. Check out both the original trailer and a fansubbed version of it below:
Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney STILL has yet to be confirmed for an international release and believe me my teeth are grinding like mad even as I type this. The Layton series remains a big seller worldwide and while perhaps not quite as successful, the Ace Attorney games have hardly been slouches themselves. So this game should be a no brainer for release in North America and the UK/Europe. Except I would have said the exact same thing about Gyakuten Kenji 2 (aka unofficially known Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth 2) and we all know how THAT turned out.
So while there have been some positive signs towards an international release for PL vs. AA, I for one am not going to take anything for granted until we hear official word one way or the other. Hopefully sanity will prevail at Capcom and the company will decide “You know what? We have pissed off our fans enough in the last couple years as it is.” Time will tell, hopefully sooner rather than later. Stay tuned to Blistered Thumbs for continuing coverage of the game and be sure to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.
