Mega Man Xover Trailer is Worse Than You Think, 1.0 out of 10 based on 1 rating

Where's Bad Box Art Mega Man? He is clearly the best.

Earlier this week Capcom told fans to “keep their expectations in check” for Mega Man’s upcoming 25th anniversary. Many Rockman enthhusiasts took this as a bit of an insult, but trust me, the true insult is yet to come.

I don’t know what’s worse: the tiny amount of gameplay or the fact that this is the big 25th anniversary game. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing inherently wrong with mobile phones as gaming devices, but it’s never a good sign when a company seems absolutely terrified of showing the actual game. I could be wrong and this could turn out awesome, but I am pretty pessimistic about the fact that all they brought out to the TGS was a minute of logos and character art.

Mega Man Xover will be coming to iOS in Japan soon.

I kinda like the look of the new Megaman.. sadly he looks more like Virgil than the new Virgil does >.>. But yeah.. this is a pretty insulting trailer considering all the stuff they’ve done with the Megaman Franchise.

Ok..i seriously wish i could have a man-to-man honest talk with ‘Sven’ cause there is just no way anyone in thier right mind would try to SELL…THIS!! *points at the trailer* I know ol’ Chris isn’t the problem man to talk to but he’s the mouthpiece as far as im concerned with all his blabbering on telling us to “hold our expectations.”

No..Sveny, i want YOU and i want anyone who is in charge to SERIOUSLY put themselves as a CONSUMER and/or GAMER/MEGAMAN FAN and look at THIS TRAILER.

LOOK AT IT.. does this advertisement, for the next game in a long standing series of what is considered THE MASCOT of Capcom for over 2 1/2 Decades, convey to you that this is a “must have game”? I’m not fucking joking, i want capcom and all their heads to be strapped down and WATCH this filth and look us in the fucking eyes and tell us that “This is a must have game.”

You cant..you fucking cant. This is a sham. Capcom has lost their goddamn minds and business sense. Doing this type of crap was a waste of money on their end. How much money does it cost to get a booth to advertise your game at TGS? Several 100,000 bucks? A million? All to show a trailer with next to no gameplay and what gameplay in motion there was is abysmal and makes the poorest of flash games on Newgrounds look like AAA masterpieces.

Capcom..get help. Look in the god damn mirror and get a fucking clue. You want our money, then stop this self destructive bullshit and get your act together. Sell MegaMan to Inafune or someone else so you can focus on what you DO care about franchise-wise OR get off your ass and start making some better decisions in regards to one of your staple franchises that has been the face of your company for 25 fucking years.

Your Call…and that’s more than what i offer to Electronic Arts.

Capcom really is the pretty, white, emo, middleclass girl of the game industry. Everyone wants to love her, to help her, and she’s had every opportunity handed to her.. but all she wants to do is cut herself and cry.

As soon as I saw the new character, I immediately thought of a typical original character put into fanfiction that is used to emulate the powers of all the other characters and/or to be hyped up as the messiah by the rest of them. If he was the Mega Man of his own game, that would be fine, but this? No. I’m not even that much of a Mega Man fan, and I’ll can do is role my eyes at this.

[Before trailer] So they release a game, after no hype, after there two major hyped games that they worked so hard on? What sense does that make? Megaman-U got a freaking animated trailer, and Megaman Legends 3 got the fans and the artwork and done demo never publicly released. BUT this…this hidden in the shadow back stab is good enough to make it through?

[After Trailer] Its still not enough game play. Yes it does look like a horrible flash game as the comments below state. In fact I can find the flash game right now! Wait wait, its a sonic game false alarm people.

I mean I’m still gonna freaking wait till it comes out until I bash the thing. Business wise and public wise though W-T~FFFF! You did two games, canceled both, info was public, then you release THIS? NO!

…I just want an other collection set. It can be as lazy as Mario’s was. But you can’t can you? You know that Megaman is released on the Wii download service. It could only be on like PS3 and 360. While the Wii owners can’t get them all and for like 5 dollars each of what is released. It be a bad collection or something.

You know you COULD release the light gun game of Megaman. That would be nice. Release Super Adventure Rockman! Works perfectly on the Wii, works for the PS3 thingy and some mega buster thing could be made for the 360 object.

…..I even bought street fighter heroclix….no more. I’m done. Until Megaman gets some respect or if this game freaking rules I’m DONE. No more for you Capcom. Release freaking Breath of Fire HD, release Magic Sword remake or Forgotten Worlds. Im DONE. Not even the Namco and Capcom tactics game. Because you will translate that into a sale for Street freaking Fighter.

    Man this blows.

…To other people really. What should I do. I want Megaman to be good. Should I really ban every game they make? Even Phoenix wright which is an other character that I love.

To buy or not buy? Tis…the question to make capcom understand what I really want.

A high level boycott of everything that is not Mega Man is what we should have been doing from the moment Mega Man Legends 3 was cancelled, but it didn’t happen because we had too many people(specifically the leaders and other members of 100,000 Strong) say that we should play nice and not take our anger out on other Capcom franchises.
I’m sorry, I didn’t agree then and I don’t now. These companies like Capcom only know one thing. Money. You hit them where it hurts, and they’ll come to the table and talk.

Do not buy anything Capcom unless it’s Mega Man related.
And if you must buy something Capcom has made, buy it used.

The fanbase is going to have to play hardball with these idiots if we want our favorite series back. And if that means curb stomping Capcom financially, then we’d better start getting out our damn boots because this isn’t going to get better until we do.

All of my hopes have been dashed. This game looks like a bad flash game in the flashes of the gameplay. This will be Capcom’s greatest phlegmy expectoration on Megaman’s rotting corpse. They don’t care anymore. It really feels like Capcom legitimately hates their established fanbase.

It’s sad to think of all the revitalization the series got over recent years (especially with the very fun Mega Man 9 and 10 games released on downloadable markets) only for them to turn around even more recently and push the character into an early grave. Fat Megaman, cancellation of two major projects starring the character, the loss of the original character creator…

This isn’t the way to treat a character who has pretty much been the face of your company since the 1980′s. Say what you will about SEGA and the questionable directions they were taking Sonic in, but at least they treated the character with a certain level of gravitas and respect, and that does go for the fans as well. Capcom? On top of everything else they’ve been doing, it’s just another way of putting nails in a freshly laminated coffin.

Hard to believe that Megaman would be taken down so much by its own company. Even Sonic’s had better treatment even if his games have only recently gotten better.

Capcom, if you really just want to make money and don’t want to do anything with this franchise anymore, please just sell the license to a company that will.

Introducing Fur Coat Mega Man, the only thing stronger than his sense of justice is his hatred for PETA. And cards of course because obviously they can’t make a game without some sort of convoluted TCG system in it.

Capcom doesn’t not care about Mega Man or the fans anymore. I would even go so far as to say they are actively trying to kill the series now.
For what reason? I have no idea. We can only speculate.
But I can tell you just by looking at this trailer that this game was never meant to be anything worth a damn. They’re just throwing this out there to shut us up, so they can say they did SOMETHING for his 25th anniversary. And you can tell by the way they act that they don’t even care if we believe them or not at this point, as long as they think they can look like the good guy by releasing something it’s all good.

        Keiji Inafune.
And actually, he left the company because of how Capcom is acting lately. He’s done a few interviews talking about how bad it was before he left, too.

I’ve actually warmed up to the new character (named “Over-1″?), just as I warmed up to every other major Megaman protagonist before it. I still feel that the idea has a lot of potential, but the execution of said idea is too weak to describe in words.

Capcom didn’t drop the ball, they punted it straight to the moon. If they ever decide to get that ball back, maybe they can pick up Rock and everyone else stranded there.
