If modern medicine doesn’t go to shit during that supposed dark age, then I put that ending first because I don’t think humanity needs any rulers to get by. Last in my order of the endings is the machine one, because i don’t think there has ever been a being wise, compassionate and good enough to bee the eternal ruler of everything. Neither in myth, fiction or reality. And I would also suggest that the AI’s idea of why we created governments is faulty. I would say that early governments came together as a way to manage land that the tribe inhabited but i think that when societies begin to be complex enough to have specialists (meaning professions) suddenly for me goverments become more about facillitateing cooperation between individuals, people who will never know one another in the same way that most people in a village, where everyone knows everyone. And when paid work starts to take over as the primary way of sustaining one self in the community you as the salary person is asked to give up a lot of freedoms. And when you are hired by the community to do something dangerous like police, fire fighter and soldier it is only logical for people to start asking to be involved in the deciding what is best for the community. And after some resistance you start getting democratic governments. The governments aren’t there because we want to be governed but because a family or small tribe has a significantly higher chance of survival if the try cooperating with others than doing things all on their own.

Best game I ever played on the PC.
I just absolutely love the music as well as the setting.
And there are so many things to discover in the game itself too, alternate paths and solutions to various conflicts and more.

“Deus ex” simply means “from god”. It’s not short of anything.

Fair enough. I guess I was thinking in comparison to “Deus ex Machina.”

Not to mention, “I spill my drink!”
Love that even the audio setting uses that line.

When I played this game, I used most of this Let’s Play as a walkthrough. So I also powered up my sniper rifle to ridiculous stats.
