Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Slashes Its Way Onto PC
Because Hideo Kojima heard that Johnny M. played a Metal Gear game.

For that one lonely person in Japan that actually purchased an Xbox 360, this is a sad day. Konami has officially announced that Platinum Games’ upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will not be released on 360 in Japan. EU and US Xbox owners need not panic (yet), as there has been no announcement or comment made about the title being cancelled in any other region. It’s likely that due to poor sales of the Xbox in Japan, production costs for publishing outweigh sales projections in Japan. Additionally, the game is probably being produced on PS3, with the Metal Gear engine having been created to work with Sony’s console, therefore the process of porting the title for the region may be an additional cost that Konami just isn’t willing to pay. Of course, this is all speculation as the only comment Konami has made is that “various reasons” have cancelled the 360 release.
On the plus side, it has also been announced that customers who purchase the Zone of the Enders HD Collection will receive a PSN voucher for a Metal Gear Rising demo. For anyone who was around when ZOE originally came out, this may seem nostalgic. Perhaps this demo will highlight the Raiden section which turns out to only be the intro, before replacing him with Snake.

“Raiden faces off against the mighty Mastiff unit in a subterranean labyrinth. Also, ponchos.” OK Konami, you’ve got me. You’ve got me.

REVIEW
GAMEPLAY SHOWCASE
“What’s this?” you might ask. This is basically a 20-30 minute video of straight unedited gameplay with commentary showcasing a small segment of the game and it’s various other aspects. Hopefully this will give you a better sense of what the experience is like as it can be hard to tell sometimes in edited reviews. I hope you enjoy!

Anything Platinum Games touches turns into greatness.
There’s not much else I can add that has not already been said other than good job PG and Konami.
That TMNT reference, What.The.Fuck? o_0
The game might very well be 60fps but this video ain’t. I would have loved this game on the Vita. It would have probably sold extremely well considering it has no friggin’ competition. On consoles/PC though I think I’m gonna skip it. I was a huge fan of MGS1 you see, and I loved every second of MGS2′s tanker chapter and then…
I loathe Raiden.
Taylor, Raiden’s voice actor is none other than Quinton Flynn. Not only has he provided Raiden’s voice for every Metal Gear Solid game the character is in, he’s also well-known for:
Reno in Final Fantasy: Advent Children & Crisis Core
Henry from the No More Heroes games
Axel and then Lea for the Kingdom Hearts games
Dr. Riddles from Zatch Bell! (both the anime and subsequent video games)
Kolyat Krios from Mass Effect 2 & 3
Just to name a few. Quinton Flynn is an amazing voice actor!
I really want to play this game
They should call the sequel “Revengeavenganence: The Revengening”.
Played through the Story once and now giving at a rest for a while before going back to play it on Hard.
Had a blast, since I actually really liked Raiden in MGS 2 and 4.
Platinum already announced a bunch of DLC, like the Solid Snake Wooden Sword (imbued with the Spirit of the Legendary Soldier), several VR misssions and two new Story DLC’s focusing on Jetstream Sam and Blade Wolf. Both will most likely be playable, too.
Whatever may come, I’m looking forward to it.

Raiden returns… next year.
There were fewer games at E3 that had as many questions surrounding them as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. There also wasn’t any game I had more fun playing.
Music Mondays revisits the band that brought us tunes from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Bit.Trip Runner.
I fully support a company not wasting money to bring a “Japanese” game to the Xbox. Too many good games have gotten the axe or not been localized to the US cause they or their predecessors sold like ass on the 360 cause it wasn’t shootbro enough to sell well on the shooterbro console.

Oh how history repeats itself. I find it hilarious how some people will find Zone of the Enders a $60 demo for MGS. Looks like it might happen again.
Seems quite reasonable, the Xbox sales in Japan are pretty weak.
