Ready to take your over the top giant monster fighting on the go?

Good news for fan’s of cult video games, Earth Defense Force 2017 is going on a second tour of duty.

This time, EDF 2017 is getting the portable treatment, with the Playstation Vita version of the 2007 title will have a U.S release. No other details were actually given, other than the announcement that the title is coming to America. The title is also getting a new name, Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable, to differentiate itself from the Xbox 360 version of the game.

Hopefully it will be a retail release over a downloadable title, but either way, it is good to see some over the top alien carnage again. The question now is the game going to be one worth picking up?
