Cloudberry Kingdom is the Wii U’s “I Wanna Be The Guy”, 10.0 out of 10 based on 1 rating

At first I thought it was a zelda/the binding of isaac crossover.

If you haven’t heard of Cloudberry Kingdom, you aren’t alone. The successful KickStarter project slipped somewhat under the radar before being outed as one of the Wii U’s launch window titles. However, now that its release dates approaches, we’re finally getting a good look at the insanity that crowd-funding has wrought.

The big draw of the game is its procedurally generated levels, which should offer a never-ending set of challenges. To be fair though, my takeaway from that video was, “Oh my Arceus, look at all those lasers. This game is a deathtrap.” A tough-as-nails indie game may be old hat to many PC gamers, but seeing one on a Nintendo console is interesting. I’ll probably end up throwing a GamePad through a window, but I might just give this a download.

Cloudberry Kingdom is scheduled for a late November release onto the Wii U. PC and Xbox 360 versions are set to follow.

If bullet hell shmup and 2D platformer made love to each other, this is what their love child would look like.

Honestly it looks like from the gameplay alone that you can just hit full forward and just jump at the right time.

Hmm, I wonder if they should make a “masochist” genre of games, or if it already exists. If it does, never mind. Just another ball buster to add to the list of games I can’t beat in less than a week…if I’m not doing anything else, of course.

Or you could just play Aban Hawkins and the 1001 Spikes when that comes out on Wii U.
