The first few metal gear prototypes weren't quite as impressive.
If you’re a big fan of Game Freak’s bug-catching/cock fighting simulator like I am, then you probably know that there are a few mons that couldn’t be obtained legally in the original Black and White versions. Of course, with the sequel duology comes new opportunities for giant metal insects. More specifically, early adopters will be able to jump on the internet and download an encounter with Genesect (pictured above) from October 7th to November 12th, 2012.
Back in my day, you had to go to a special Nintendo event in Japan to get access to special Legendary Pokemon. Nowadays, you can just download a Victini, Keldeo, or a Genesect out of thin air. You whippersnappers and your Wi-Fi.
Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 will arrive exclusively on DS this October 7th, 2012.

I may have jumped the gun (no pun intended), it looks like it IS a Kabutops, who’s also revived from fossils.

If you are going to use an Action Replay… why not just hack a 999 Max Stat Magikarp that can rain apocalypse from the heavens?
because that would still be lame.
There’s cheating and then there’s cheating.. maybe I’m just self-deluding but catching a “wild” Legendary at level 3 and raising it all the way up throughout the game instead of snagging it at level 70 right before the boss and dumping out a team member who’s worked hard for the other 99% of the game feels more satisfying.
Admittedly that’s not really in the spirit of the game..but hey.. I have fun and I don’t do competitive play or try and trade them.. so..
That’s a pretty good window for this event, and one I’ll definitely take advantage of.
Those devious bastards. That is definitely a way to sell the game at launch.
