New Project X Zone Trailer Highlights Capcom's Characters

When Namco Bandai decide to release a trailer for a game, they do not mess around. I say that because the latest trailer for the Project X Zone, the big 3DS crossover game that brings together characters from Namco, Capcom, and SEGA for one massive turn-based strategy adventure, has arrived and it does indeed clock in at over 16 minutes long. That is dedication to selling a game alright. Then again, if I was less than a month from releasing a game (still for the moment in Japan only *sobs*) like PXZ, I would probably not be able to contain myself either. Check out said monster trailer below:
I love turn based strategy games. I love games with sprawling and massive casts. I love epic tales with the fate of worlds on the line. And I really love crossovers, the bigger the better. So yeah… I need this game to get released in the United States. Not just want, NEED! I mean did you see that trailer? A game with the characters from Valkyrie Chronicles, Mega Man X, .hack, Mega Man Legends, AND Rival Schools United By Fate all in one place? Sign me up please. Now! Come on Namco Bandai, we Mega Man fans have already had our hopes and dreams crushed plenty by Capcom as it is of late. Don’t you guys get in on the act as well.
And in some ways not knowing whether or not PXZ is coming out here is even worse than having confirmation it definitely will leave Japanese shores. Why? Because hope differed is often far more painful than a simple and quick denial of that very same hope. It lasts longer for one thing. Anyways, Project X Zone will arrive for the 3DS in Japan on October 11. It will continue to arrive in my dreams nightly. Stay tuned to Blistered Thumbs for continuing coverage of the game and be sure to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments sections below.

I… think I came rainbows…
The pessimist in me wishes to point out that this is a spiritual successor to another massive crossover game, Namco X Capcom, which uses a relatively similar structure for gameplay, but it was never released over here due to both companies worried that the plot (and many of their more obscure characters) wouldn’t resonate well with American audiences.
My optomist side, who is far more vocal, shall state that Namco X Capcom is one of the most imported titles for the PS2 (I should know… I bought a Japanese PS2 slim, brand new, just so I could play an authentic copy of the game!) and there was even a full English patch made for the game by some of its most dedicated fans! Add to it, American gamers have become far more receptive to crossover RPGs in recent years (genuinely terrible games like Cross Wars, along with genuinely amazing games like Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier *gasp* have made it over here; sadly, the latter game’s sequel did not T.T).
At this point, it’s a coin toss, but I honestly cannot let go of the hope that this game will make it over here, even if it is years after the Japanese release.
…
*phone rings* Hello, I’d like to speak to the guy in charge at ATLUS? X3
Endless Frontier was ported… but its sequel EXCEED was not. I am not holding my breath.
Also, if NxC taught me anything, you don’t need to understand this game’s dialogue to enjoy it – you need to speak moonrunes mostly to get the jokes the characters are cracking. All that remains is a matter of region locking.
Project X Zone, my new number one reason for hating region locking ;.;
I… Imma cry…
This video showed me that this game will have BREASTS, they will be flying all over the screen, boobs, tits, ass, booty, and so forth. This game should be called c X n X s X = XXX
Too bad I will never buy an 3DS since it is region locked and I’d have to import the system from the USA and import all the games, too. They only sell Japanese / Chinese versions in Taiwan.
It’s a Banpresto product. Excessive amounts of fanservice cut-ins was a given.
Shot with X, Zero, KOS-MOS and T-elos all in one screen… so the money shot. Jedah and Vile as opponents.. ugh.. I want it so bad.
People still remember Fighting Vipers? Not that I complain, more obscure titles in crossovers == good.
That Selvaria.
That Imca. (Yes I like VC too)
That John McClane.
That Sanger.
That Brave New World.
Don’t care if it’s Japanese-only, I want this game.
It wouldn’t be so bad if the 3DS wasn’t region locked.
