Still the only image we have.

Konami has released the gameplay demonstration shown yesterday with the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.

Although this video confirms some plot details and the role of Big Boss, it is much more impressive as a demo for the FOX Engine. Various sources have confirmed that this will likely be the technology behind future Metal Gear and Silent Hill titles, so Ground Zeroes will be an important step towards the next generation of graphics. With the release of this footage, we also received some clarification from game director Hideo Kojima himself, who stated that “We’re not going to say that it’s Metal Gear Solid 5, but it is a prologue.”

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will be arriving on PS3 sometime in 2013, although it has been confirmed to be “multi-platform.”

I have one gripe with the grafics, the surfaces in the rain look more “slimy” than wet. It looks like Snake is crawling on jelly, which is quite jarring when the rest looks so great, especially the lighting effects but those make the jelly-surfaces look even worse.

Woah, judging from Big Boss’s look, he must be at least over 50. Which means this game could take place some time in the 80s.
Would make sense. No other Metal Gear game before took place in that time period.

    Completly blown away.

Hopefully, they will dub this trailer with English voices soon. I can’t wait to hear David Hayter again.

Snake and Liquid were born in 1972.
The Les enfants terrible project is mentioned in Peace Walker, which takes place 2 years later.

so that would mean Snake and Liquid are about the age of 9. would it be cool if we might see a cameo of Snake & Liquid as kids. Then again I don’t think Kojima and his team might have been to busy to put that in the game.

It seems, Ground Zeroes directly ties in to events from Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

Because in 1999, Big Boss used child soldiers in Sansibar, who were later liberated by Snake.
Ground Zeroes could be the game that shows, how Big Boss came up with the idea to get children fight for MSF. That could explain the boy inside the cage.

If the announcement of an open-world Metal Gear Solid game piqued my interest, this gave it an erection.

I’m not a graphics whore, but man, does the game looks stunning, I can’t believe this is an in game footage, FOX Engine looks so promising, hopefully the console ports would still look as stunning as this.

and I’m so glad this is gonna be a direct sequel to Peace Walker, can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen to Paz…I mean Pacifica. ^^
