I will never be scared of someone wearing that hat.

When Ubisoft demonstrated ZombiU at E3 this year, most people wrote it off as a gimmicky little thing meant to entice “Hardcore” gamers to the Wii U. But now it appears that the company is seriously convinced that their tech demo is a legitimate horror game. Alright guys, I’ll bite. Show me what you got.

Color me impressed. I’m still not sure that I’m sold on the Wii U Gamepad as a backpack, but there does seem to be real potential in the slower pace and high stakes that the game is aiming for. Launch titles are usually a little underwhelming, but if this is even half as good as it looks than I will probably be picking it up along with my shiny new Nintendo platform. What do you think?

ZombiU will be out by Christmas this year, exclusively for Wii U.

If you’ve ever played DayZ, the tension of having only one life and losing all your gear can be pretty intense. This isn’t on that level, but it’s similar and actually has me interested. Still not keen on motion controls, probably never will be, but there are some interesting interactive elements with the gamepad there.

Looks like they are trying to get the atmosphere right but the motion controls and having to look down at the controller constantly might bog it down.

I haven’t heard many good things about this game from people who played it at Gamescom. Appearently the controls are horrible and it looks like Left 4 Dead 1.

At first i was sceptic about this game..But it actually looks pretty awesome. I’ll wait for the reviews, and if it gets good scores i might get a WiiU and this game.

I have to admit, the game looks legitimately scary.

I appreciate the attempt to make risk feel more real with character death, but I suspect it will backfire. Character empathy is key for S-H games, and this looks like it undermines that.

I’m cautiously optimistic about this title. It looks like solid gameplay, but I’m a little pickier than that. Dead Space had solid gameplay AND a decent story. I still couldn’t help but feel it was Doom 3: Limb Chopper Edition.

“We want a realistic zombie experience”
Yes, cause nothing screams realistic than a zombie apocalypse ROFL

Wow, they actually shoot at the head in this demo. Color me surprised after all those RE6 demo’s.

So its like Dead Island but with actual consequences of your character being dead, sounds and looks pretty darn good.
