Is this the main character of the sequel?
When Square Enix’s The World Ends With You counter struck zero and an iOS port was announced, fan reaction landed mostly on the side of disappointment. While a true sequel carried a large risk of bungling an intellectual property that didn’t need continuation, we all secretly hoped that a new set of characters and themes could be explored through the Reaper Game. If only TWEWY translator Brian Gray had some encouraging words for us….
Oh wait, he does. Fans who have already completed The World Ends with You -Solo Remix- were treated with the above header image, showing a new character and the words “New 7 Days,” strongly hinting at a sequel. Gray’s response? “It’s real.” Now there’s even video evidence:
After all of the hype and disappoinment, it seems as though we will be getting some sort of new TWEWY media. Will it be a 3DS entry? iOS? Wii U? Stay tuned to BT for new information as it emerges.

And now for the disappointing reveal that the sequel is on the iOS and not the 3DS.
This is just theory but the girl is wearing headphones which was a big part of Neku’s character and she is also holding Mr Mew which belong to Shiki. Could she be their daughter?

Can’t wait to hear more about this if it is indeed a sequel or spin off. Also hope we get to visit the post game alternate universe again too…even if I did suck at that pin minigame…
Hmm, why’s that girl holding that pig? (“HE’S NOT A PIG!!”)… er, I mean, Mr. Mew? She doesn’t look much like Shiki… though admittedly, we never see her whole face at once, but from what we DID see, we know she wears glasses….
Though this makes me cautiously shed a many tear at the prospect of a NEW game =’). Please, OH PLEASE be on 3DS….
To be honest, “New 7 Days” sounds less like a sequel tease and more like an expansion on the existing game to me, given TWEWY spanned three sets of seven days. Though if that is the case I can’t explain why the expansion wasn’t part of the phone port. Hm…
It will likely be released on both the 3DS and iOS, because if it’s not on iOS, then what would have been the point of the port? The Wii U might be nice, but I like the idea of TWEWY staying on portables.
