Update: The full trailer is now online!
Original Story: The Atlus faithful among you already know that the Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers remake being released in Japan soon is set to contain a trailer for the highly anticipated fourth Shin Megami Tensei title. Luckily for impatient people like us, someone managed to get an early copy and take some blurry photos of the SMT4 trailer. Most of them are pretty useless, but here are the good ones:
Shin Megami Tensei IV will be arriving exclusively on 3DS sometime in 2013. That’s all we know for now, but expect the full trailer to hit the internet soon.

Music Mondays revisits the band that brought us tunes from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Bit.Trip Runner.
Oh i seriously hope it stays to the classic FP Dungeon Crawl formula the past games and Strange Journey had. Though if they do something along the lines of a Single player (and thoroughly tweaked for Single Player) version of how IMAGINE works, i wouldn’t mind that either…
Now all I need to know is what system and ATLUS can have my money.
It’s confirmed for 3DS (and might get a Vita release, but that hasn’t been really confirmed).
Looking at the images themselves, they looked really good. Guess the artwork reminds me of my first SMT game Devil Summoner Raidou vs Abaddon.
But it still leave us a lot of questions about it. Guess we’ll have to wait for more details.
As for the ‘Summoning Device’ didn’t they do that already for a certain MegaTen MMO?
A lot of the design work in the main SMT franchise (and many of the Personae in the Persona spin-off series) is done by Kazuma Kaneko, who also cameos in a few of said games as ‘The Demon Artist’. As for devices that summon demons, it’s actually been a thing in the metafranchise since before it even existed, as its source material, the novel series, ‘Digital Devil Story’ was focused around a highschool kid unwittingly creating a portal to hell through his computer.
I’m looking forward to this (and Soul Hackers 3DS), as the MegaTen franchise was one of the big reasons I leaned towards the 3DS in the first place. I mean, P4Golden for the Vita is nice, but I already own P4, and I’m one of the few people who probably likes the main series better than the Personas. Not that I dislike the Persona games. Obviously, I love them, but the main series is more like Pokemon for adults.
That device was a staple of the main series, and the MMO is based off the main series, so… the MMO is definitely this chicken’s egg.
Oh and NOW I get to see something that pronounces the game’s name. Sheesh.
