For many people, including a number of writers here at Blistered Thumbs, Rayman Legends could end up being the title that induces them to buy the Wii U at or around the system’s launch. Beyond the fact that the game has technically been confirmed only for the Wii U to date (though expect that to possibly change next week during Gamescom), there is also the little matter of the game making potentially brilliant use of the Wii U’s signature tablet controller for the purpose of five player co-op. And of course there is also the simple fact of the game being a direct sequel to last year’s Rayman Origins; a game many to consider to among the best 2D platformers released in years.

So there is already lots of reasons to be excited for Rayman Legends and now Ubisoft is giving everyone one more with the release of their latest trailer. That is because this trailer reveals one of the new playable characters joining up with the limbless wonder in his latest adventure. And who is this character you might very well ask? None other a than feisty barbarian that Ubisoft themselves describes as “Barbara, the axe-wielding, winged-helmet wearing, red-headed barbarian”. Check out Barbara’s big debut in the aforementioned trailer below.
