Despite being pushed back to November, Sony is still going full steam ahead with its promotion of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. To that end, the expected Gamescom character reveal brought a full 4 new fighters to the table, which you can peruse at your leisure below.
Ratchet and Clank:
Spike (Ape Escape):
Dante (Devil May Cry):
Sackboy (LittleBigPlanet):
It appears as though these reveals confirm the leak that hit the internet a week or two back. If this continues to hold true, we can expect to see Raiden, Nariko, Sir Daniel, and Evil Cole added to the roster in the near future, in addition to at least one RPG character. If that sounds good to you, remember that you can get both versions of the game with the purchase of just one, thanks to Sony’s newly announced initiative.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be available on November 20th, 2012 for PS3 and PS Vita.
A student of Literature and Religion at Florida State University, Austin Yorski is a jack-of-all-trades around BT. He goes by Austin or Yorski (but not both), and spends all the time he isn’t reading or playing football on writing, editing, moderating, and gaming. He can also collect all 120 stars in Super Mario 64 blindfolded.
Plus, a new stage based on The Unfinished Swan and MediEvil.
Someone is exiting the arena for good.
See Kat and Emmet in action!
Currently, Sackboy is one of the most broken characters in PlayStation AllStars Battle Royale. So to have a little fun, me and my buddy tried to demonstrate this one match while streaming. The following video is the hilariousness that ensued.
The best of the best have come to compete in a no holds barred, free for all, battle royal!
Full reveal inside!
Let’s watch carefully for hints of new characters.
Also, details on the story of PS All-Stars.

How… shocking.

Now we just need Spyro the Dragon.
If this does turn out to be legit, there are some interesting choices here.
Birdman comes out swinging against the last son of Krypton and wants to know if there has been a good Superman game? Oh yeah, happy 3 year anniversary for RAD as well!
One of these four characters does not fit the mold when it comes to defining an “All Star”. And worse of all SuperBot Entertainment is either ignorant of the backlash he has rightfully so received or simply doesn’t care. Talk about killing all anticipation I had for even trying to see it other than a poor man’s SSB.
I honestly am hoping that this game is not going to be charged at full price.
Well it’s about freaking time. I love how Ratchet & Clank (Yes, I’m especially happy that you can use both of them) control, but I’m not fond of they’re whatever-final-smashes-are-called-in-this; it’s slow and reminds me of Snake’s Final Smash.
sigh, for some reason I just can’t get behind this game.
Hopefully for DMC fans they put in an alternate Dante costume that looks more like his old self.
And so he can share the spotlight with that abomination? I rather they not bother at all. The real one is busy being in Project X Zone, a game which promises to be a whole lot better than this half ass job.
Horray for Ratchet, Sackboy and Spike! ^^ (Even though his character model look kinda weird), and boo for DmC’s Dante. >:( (I don’t really hate him, I just hoped they added classic Dante instead.)
still waiting for Sir Daniel, Crash Bandcoot, and Spyro.
Oh, it’s reboot Dante. Well, from an advertising perspective, I suppose that makes sense – same way Nintendo advertised FE6 by including Roy in Melee – but as far as building fan desire for this game goes, I suspect that’ll backfire on them.
Except that it doesn’t. Not even from an advertising perspective since not enough people support Donkey compared to how many more people hate his guts and love the original Dante.
It would be the equivalent of saying Nintendo should use the CD-I Link in the next Super Smash Brothers game and ignore the other more superior versions of Link.
That would kill sales.
Not only is the game not even out,but I highly doubt that it will even come close to matching the original.
Doesn’t universal studios still hold the Spiro series and something so that’s why he isn’t in it so far?
Spyro is currently owned by Activision.
Well as I just posted in the 4 new IP article, I love SONY. This game is showcasing their brand – but although I am hopeful for this game, it’s probably their weakest game at the moment. Most people seem to have given up on it as soon as it was announced. The gameplay looks like it could be awesome with a group of friends, but the trailers don’t really give you an exciting feeling… Well here’s hoping its good!
Dear sweet lord, what have they done to Spike? He stares into my soul! He stare into my soul and see all my flaws. And then… He nets them. HE NETS THEM! KEEP IT AWAY! KEEP IT AWAY! Argggggagkgldj;afjakldsfladofweioajanvadova
I hear you man. I don’t get why they update his body (hair clothes etc.) to PS3 standards yet they don’t give him a nose. Either keep his model as a low polygon nod to his PS1 roots or go all out and make him a PS3 version of what he’d look like i.e. with a frikkin nose.
