While I never really got into any of the Animal Crossing games myself, it certainly was not because they were lacking in quality. I have never played The Sims either if it comes to that; both sets of games simply have little personal appeal to me. Yet I have any number of friends and acquaintances in my life who love the holy heck out of Animal Crossing and so I know plenty of people who are going to be very happy to learn more details about the latest game in the AC (not to be confused with any other series sharing these same initials; though I have to admit I would totally buy Animal’s Creed) series: Animal Crossing: Jump Out.
The news comes via the Nintendo enthusiast website appropriately named Nintendo Everything who have translated details about AC:JP included in the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly. Among these details include the fact that players will no longer simply be a simple citizens of the town, but instead will take on the role of the mayor. Animal Crossing: Jump Out appears to also be adding roofs, doors, posts, & fences to its the list of customizable options. Additionally, there will be the expected new furniture items (including apparently mermaid items; yay?) along with at least three new stores, one a shoe shop, one a gardening shop, and the last a thrift shop run by Lisa the alpaca. Finally, Jump Out will feature the addition of a shopping mall that players can visit located beyond the city’s train tracks.
Everything Nintendo also translated the following bits of information regarding the specifics of several buildings to be included in AC:JO:
- Familiar clothes shop
Museum (open 24 hours)
- Similar to previous entries
- Increase in the types of fish and fossils
- Exhibition Room included
- Museum Shop included
Gardening store (open 9:00 to 20:00)
- Seems to be run by a sloth
- First time a gardening store is in Animal Crossing
- Purchase flower seeds and tree seedlings
Raccoon housing (open 10:00 to 20:00)
- Tom Nook seems to be managing this aspect
- Take an early tent and gradually customize it into a large house
- Handle parts which decide the appearance of the house
Miscellaneous goods store (open 8:00 – 20:00)
Animal Crossing: Jump Out currently is tentatively set for release sometime in 2013 in North America, Europe, and the UK. Stay tuned to Blistered Thumbs for continuing coverage of the game and be sure to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

Really Animal Creed…why not Arkham Crossing or Assassins Crossing, they both sound more kickass.
