This game utilizes the latest in beard physics.

Voice acting may be the best thing to have happened to the LEGO brand in quite some time. These games have always been fun and accessible, but now they are genuinely some of the funniest titles around.

As good as that looks, does anyone else feel like this release is strangely timed? The Lord of the Rings films are ancient by pop culture standards and The Hobbit is the hot new property. You would think that Lego would be preparing a Hobbit game. Maybe they are, and I am just impatient. Yeah, that’s probably it.

Lego The Lord of the Rings: The Video Game will be released in “this Fall” for PC, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, and (probably) Wii U. Several retailers have the title listed for a late October launch.

This game will be amazing! I adore Lord of the Rings and this looks like it will be a great retelling of the series. Plus Its a Lego game so hopefully we will get a playable Figwit.

I dunno, it’s no more ‘old’ a property than Star Wars or Indiana Jones was and those LEGO properties are huge, not to mention Harry Potter, or even Pirates of the Caribbean.

I think this is going to be the best LEGO game ever (at least, until the next one)
