A rare still photo from the mating dance of the mighty North American muscle car.

I like posting news about racing games, because it means that Austin is pretty much on the hook for another review that he’s going to do. He’s the only one who winds up doing sports games, and racing games, so writing this news post is as much for his benefit as it is for yours. That news would be that Codemasters has let it fly today that we can expect a sequel to 2008 racing game, GRID.

In pre-production for two years now, GRID 2 promises to use a new evolution of the EGO Game Tech Platform engine, a new “TrueFeel” handling system, and new locations to race in from around the world, such as Paris, or Chicago. We’re also promised revamps to the AI, damage system, and a whole new level of multiplayer support for the sequel. It should be coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime in 2013, but in the meantime, cinematic trailers are all vrooom!

Johnny Maloney

Having been a gamer since 1986 when his father brought home an IBM PCjr with King's Quest and Crossfire included, it seemed destined that PC gaming and Johnny Maloney's life would run parallel forever. Despite his occasional affairs with movies, books, music and single malt scotch, he's never once left the side of his PC. In fact, on a full moon on a friday the thirteenth, if you sit in his old chairs... chills will run up your spine if you say "you fight like a dairy farmer," and you can sometimes hear ghostly whispers in the night respond "how appropriate, you fight like a cow…" -- Attempting to contact Johnny at Johnny@Blisteredthumbs.net may be successful.
