A student of Literature and Religion at Florida State University, Austin Yorski is a jack-of-all-trades around BT. He goes by Austin or Yorski (but not both), and spends all the time he isn’t reading or playing football on writing, editing, moderating, and gaming. He can also collect all 120 stars in Super Mario 64 blindfolded.

Why such a low star rating? You were all great.
Even if this is a month old, I’ve gotta add that I actually like the game mechanic minus the gender attachment. Like Yorski said, blame the culture as a whole; the fact that Hemingway reached for description “Girlfriend Mode” first, however, is troubling.
Even though they’ve since rescinded the promotion, I still can’t believe EA was promoting that sale of real automatic weapons. I mean really, WTF was John Riccitiello smoking?
Hundred dollar bills for the traces of cocaine therein?
Johnny, these opening and your demeanor in general truly make me aspire to be as weird as you.
You flatter me, sir. I think.
If I was the girlfriend I would be happy. Yay easier game!
I’m becoming more and more tempted to save that header image onto my computer.
What is the largest number of pages you collected in Slender Leon? Because the game starts out with him mostly staring at the player, but the more pages you collect the more aggressive Slender Man becomes (at least that’s what it was like when I played it). While Clock Tower is one of my favorite Horror games, I kind of like that Slender goes at its horror slower. Then again, I really like Creepy Pasta.
I have this friend who very vehemently defends EA. After the ludicrously stupid ad campaigns for Dante’s Inferno and Dead Space 2, he claimed EA learned their lesson and made a bet with me that it would be at least 5 years until they advertised another game in a manner remotely close to the stupidity Dante’s Inferno/Dead Space 2 faced. With this new Medal of Honor fiasco he has officially lost that bet. In almost under a year I might add.
I know what happens. Played it and seen a bunch of reaction videos. Not scary.
From the descriptions of the game that I read, the Slender Man sounds interchangeable with a teleporting Cthulhu statue.
Okay so the girlfriend mode.
So I know a few gamers both boys and girls who are in a relationship with someone who aren’t so much of a gamer.
They try to tag along with gaming from time to tume, but being less good at is stopping that. I can see how a skill tree for less skilled gamers might help. Calling it the girlfriend mode is to paint the picture he could have said boyfriend mode but would that paint the same picture?
I know there are a lot of female gamers out there, perhaps even more then male, but there are still a lot of relationships with only one “hardcore” gamer and one is casual or even less. I can see how he thought of girlfriend mode to illustrate it even though I might have called it NOOB mode. (or arda mode buuut that is something noone would understand)
sorry if I come across confusing it is hard for me to even explain my thoughts about this in dutch let alone in English.
While I am a huge gun right supporter (I do own an Ak47 with 30 rd mags) and will defend the 2nd Amendment to death, I will admit I am rather worried, if I heard correctly, about EA’s ‘Partners In Arms.’ You could say that EA believes that people who are going to be playing MoH: Warfighter are at least over the age of 17 (although, you have to be at least 18 to purchase a long gun[rifles, shotguns, etc]and accessories, pending on the state), given the fact it’s a M-rated game, and that they are trying to get the military-gamer market. However, there are plenty of younger folks who play these games and given how opponents to video games think violence is the by-product of violent games; it doesn’t our cause when you have one of the biggest gaming companies sponsored by companies that make military-grade equipment. Also, this seems more like a story that MSNBC would do.
