This news just broke, so hopefully I’m the first one to make this observation. The new president of Atlus’ North American publishing branch is named Naoto Hiraoka. I couldn’t make that up if I tried.
Former president Shinichi Suzuki will stay on in “an advisory role” at Atlus’ parent company, Index Digital Media, Inc. for the next couple months as the publisher of the Megami Tensei franchise, Catherine, and many PSP strategy RPGs becomes acclimated to the new regime. After stepping down, Suzuki said, “I thank my staff and all of the fans that continue to support the company and its games. Under new leadership, we will continue our proud tradition of excellent games and exceptional localizations. I extend my sincerest thanks to all who helped in some way to make us successful.”
He was president and CEO of Atlus North America for 8 years.

So long as he isn’t the one that just keeps doing cash ins with handheld stuff instead of working on the next gen consoles already..
Shin Megami Tensei 4, from PS3 to a game destined to just be another Devil Survivor type clone for 3DS..
Shinichi Suzuki has helped a lot with pushing Atlus to where they are now. Looking forward to what Naoto Hiraoka can do.
The first Atlus developed game i played was Dungeon Explorer on the PC-Engine (Turbografx-16).Fantastic game, with one the best videogame soundtracks ever.Although Atlus don’t really have a strong presence in Europe i try to check in on what they are doing.
