Yoshinori Ono is a sly devil, isn’t he? Today at comic-con Ono, clad in a custom-made Blanka suit revealed at the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Celebration panel essentially dropped a strong hint that a new Darkstalkers game is in the works.
Ono, known for his work at Capcom on Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter X Tekken, basically alluded that a new Darkstalkers game may be coming out soon. He talked about how previous years at the comic-con panels he asked attendees to hold up $5-$10 bills to show support for a new Darkstalkers game, to prove to the bigwigs at Capcom that there is fan support for the freaky fighter franchise. This year, however, Ono had some cryptic news to relay to fans. According to Ono, “This year, you don’t have to do that, and it’s not necessarily bad news!” He later followed it up with a no comment statement, because he may get in trouble if he says too much.
While it is always a good sign to hear the words of a in-house developer that a new game is in the works, there is still no true confirmation on a new Darkstalkers title. Even with the hint by Ono, and a few rumors circulating around the internet, at this time its better to be just cautiously optimistic until a true announcement is made.

DO WANT!
I’m excited for this but I gotta see the roster before I decide whether or not to get it if it comes true.
I might be interested. Though at this point it’ll have a lot of competition – I’ve got four fighting games I switch between when I want to play the genre already, a fifth coming out in less than a month (Persona 4 Arena), and around three others I’m interested in trying somewhere on the horizon. At that kind of rate I may end up having to ignore fighting games that aren’t sequels to the ones I play regularly just to keep my sanity.
Yeah, pretty clear. Looking forward to seeing the gang of monsters again.
There may be hope for Capcom yet.
Disc comes with zero characters unlocked. Cant even play the game without buying DLC characters. Character data is on disc though.
oh my gosh
I…
o_o
Hey, it never hurts to be optimistic.
All I have to say is
AAAAAAWWWWW YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAH!!!
