But will he fight nuns with guns?

Did you know Marvel Comics has a character named Hit-Monkey? Until this morning, neither did I. It appears that not only does such a thing exist, but Activision is publishing a video game based on the license. Life is strange.

All we can glean about the project comes from the official site, which consists solely of the above image and the developer and publisher logo. It seems that High Moon, the studio behind the well-received Transformers games, will be handling this particular bit of insanity. I am forced to assume that this monkey business is the reason why they moved up the release date for Fall of Cybertron. They couldn’t wait one more second to go ape$#@! on some fools.

Sorry, monkey puns are fun.

It’s unknown what platforms Hit-Monkey will be swinging onto, but it does appear to have a 2013 release window.

“Did you know Marvel Comics has a character named Hit-Monkey?”

Yes, I did know that. He was a spin-off from Deadpool about 2 years ago, appearing in a 3 issue arc in Deadpool and also getting a 3 issue limited series all his own (and I didn’t even have to click the Wikipedia link to know that). Far as I know he hasn’t been seen since those 6 comics so it seems odd that he would be getting a game now.

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that I would have much rather seen a game featuring Deadpool instead, perhaps with Hit-Monkey as a supporting character if they insist on using him, but then again knowing the Deadpool character, this very well could be a confusing viral marketing campaign for what is actually a Deadpool game. Either that or I could just be seeing what I want to see, who knows.

Also, it seems that your source link doesn’t work anymore, it just goes to a completely blank white page. I guess someone flipped the switch a little early seeing as the unknown Marvel/Activision/High Moon collaborative game wasn’t supposed to be announced until sometime during Comic-Con later this week.

The concept sounds amusing, but I just wanted to point out that your articles are always good for a chuckle. Keep up the hilarity.

A game with a Hitman who is a monkey? Those are two of my favorite things! And like ketchup and macaroni cheese they sound like the most ingenious combination!

I want this game to be as close to a full game version of Mesal Gear Solid‎ from Ape Escape 3 as possible.

Well, if Rocket Raccoon can get into a Capcom game, I see no reason why Hit-Monkey can’t get his own game. Besides, it’s about time Hit-Man got a legit spoof game.

Also, please don’t tell me you’re going to continue using killer nun references/jokes. We get it, most think it’s ridiculous.

More games need monkeys. I hope Company Of Heroes 2 has monkeys.
