Both Gollum and Gandalf will be playable characters in the upcoming Lord of the Rings MOBA, Guardians of Middle-Earth. Hold on to your hysterical laughter until you watch the video though, as Monolith has done everything possible to actually make picking Smeagle an option.
When you use a property as complex and established as LotR, it can be hard to shoe-horn it into a video game. The effort on display here is admirable, but I think we can all agree that it breaks the suspension of disbelief to consider Gollum anything but low tier. Gandalf on the other hand, is a surprising choice for a tank unit, although I suppose dying and coming back even more powerfully qualifies you as a damage sponge. I can’t wait until they announce the stats on Merry and Pippin.

I can see people mess up the game with Tom Bombadil dancing around causing hilarity and grief.

Didn’t Gandalf’s stats just completely dwarf Gollums though?
when he says “there are many ways to play” I swear it sounds like he’s using the shittiest mic ever.
This looks okay I guess, though I don’t remember Gollum being THAT strong. I also find it hilarious that they named an attack “My Precious”. I’m surprised they didn’t go all in and give Gandalf “You Shall Not Pass!”
