Doobic brought guns to celebrate!

All right folks, Tomonobu Itagaki’s troubled game, Devil’s Third, has had some new developments. Valhalla Game Studios is going to be handing off development of the game’s PC and tablet releases to Doobic Game Studios, the developers of the F2P shooter, Combat Arms, and the upcoming Shadow Company. This news was accompanied by Doobic and Valhalla signing a technical collaboration contract for Devil’s Third that also called for a joint venture company, Valhalla&Doobic Co., Ltd. However, there have been no projects announced for the new company.

Devil’s Third has had a very troubled development history. After the company behind the game’s original engine (during which time Katsuhiro Harada of Tekken fame apparently helped with the project and grew frustrated with Itagaki) went out of business, Itagaki and Valhalla turned to THQ who provided them with the engine for Darksiders 2 to develop the new build of the game. However, about two weeks ago, THQ revealed that they would no longer be publishing Devil’s Third

There is no release date for any versions of Devil’s Third but we here at Blistered Thumbs will be keeping our eyes on this project.
