Did everything just taste blue for a second there?

It slices! It dices! It’s the scourge of watermelons everywhere! It’s Raiden, cyborg ninja extraordinaire and star of this Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance footage.

As you can see, combat in Revengeance will consist of both the combo-heavy “stylish” type and some more precise swordsmanship that allows you to finely dice enemies. While the in-game graphics aren’t too impressive, the small pile of slices you can leave foes and objects in is novel. Unsurprisingly, stealth kills appear to be particularly brutal. Metal Gear Solid 5 might be on the way, but Rising looks to be an interesting experiment to hold us over until then.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is scheduled for an “early 2013″ release onto Xbox 360 and PS3.
