As long as the scrolls aren't elder….

I love Minecraft. You love Minecraft. Everybody but Leon Thomas loves Minecraft. But that isn’t the only game from Notch and Mojang. Behold, Scrolls:

Most of our coverage of Scrolls has focused on the lawsuit over its name, but now that said controversy is over we can finally focus on the game itself. Obviously, the title is a card-based game, in which you build a deck and battle the AI or another human player. The closed alpha will start very soon, and will contain “multiplayer matches, single player matches vs AI, and the Deck Builder.” The final build will include an “auction house where you may buy or sell scrolls from each other and additional features in the world such as character customization, items, quests and so on.”

Let us know your thoughts on the game in the comments below.

TroggyHordesma. I really hope it’s not magic meets heroes of might and magic, then i would just like half of the game :p, i like Magic the gathering but Heroes has always felt too slow paste for me just like Total war i like games that move just slightly faster than that.. if this game is too slow it’s not going to be a game for me :(

Not my type of game. I love Minecraft and have put many hours into it – but I am just not interested in this.

However I know lots of card games are popular and mixing that with a hex based board might make something cool. I’m sure it has a big chance to be popular. At least lots of people will check it out.

I think I should hold off on my final stance until some closer-to-release footage comes out. As it stands right now, I do not find this particularly interesting. Animation looks like the Dragon Age flash games, looks a bit too easy to destroy each other’s “life points”(?), and unless there will be alternative stages, the game is going to be very brown…

So Magic the Gathering meets Heroes of Might & Magic? Interesting.

Looks… interesting. I don’t know what I was really expecting but it wasn’t this. Reminds me of a free-to-play card MMO on Kongregate called Tyrany where it’s pretty much the same sort of “trying to attack the enemy but you can’t as long as he has dudes in your way” sort of game.
