It seems, for me, as if for Leon nothing is inherently right or wrong, good or bad, thus making (almost) everything eligible for serious discussion and consideration.
This makes space for a more subtle and serious subtext.
That is until the more psychotic part of this persona comes out and he remembers the pack of bears that stole his sega genesis managing to play it reasonably well…
…and i’m loving every second of it.

Heart of Gaming has existed for sixty-seven episodes. It has not once shown game footage. I’m sorry if you are new to the series, but what you’re suggesting has never been the style of the show. We are living in the YouTube/Blip age. There are literally thousands of videos with what you’re sarcastically requesting. If that is what you want, they’re not hard to find.
Heart of Gaming is designed so that it never looks or feels like any other show that’s part of Channel Awesome or the Internet at large. I would no sooner start showing color and game footage as Phelous would stop being meta, ChaosD1 would stop discussing MMO’s on MMO Grinder, JesuOtaku would remove her star rating system, etc. etc. etc.
This is the show. It is tweaked from time to time, but I’m not removing core elements of it.
I wouldn’t worry about this Zer057 here. When you look at what few comments he’s made (even the more than one he’s made on this show which makes it odd why he’s so shocked about he format) almost all of it is negative crap meant to antagonize.
I know he and people like him would ‘justify’ that by saying it was only his opinion and he has the right to say it. I would point out that it may be your opinion that the guy across the street with biceps the size of watermelons has a face that looks like a bull dog’s ass. And it is your right to say so. But doing so would result in getting your ass kicked.
Freely expressing any opinion you have no matter what others may think may make you sound cool when you explain it that way. But when anyone thinks for a moment and realizes that there is no way you do crap like that when you don’t get to hide behind your anonymity shield they realize you are just a cowardly asshole.
Living in a country diseased by supermacist filth to the brim, there is really nothing that sickens me more than this type of scum. I would say something along the lines of “they should be lined up and shot” but that would be ironic.
And please people, don’t confuse physical ugliness with ideological, they are a tad bit different. The greek philosophers weren’t pretty, but they had a few wise things to say, you know.

Thought it was odd there was no gameplay footage but it’s understandable. What little I’ve seen of those games are pretty sucky in both content and subject matter. Sadly, it’s been going on back to the days of the Commodore 64.

Well, this episode certainly was a lot more candid and less character than usual, but some things require a certain clarity of statement.
Another great episode! You’re right. Racist are ugly people with ugly ideals. I hate that our platform gets used for such things, but I suppose it happens to all artistic media at somepoint. Thank you for using yours to speak out against it. These games sound horrible.
