I’m playing 3D Dot Game Heroes as well and it’s just great.

I’m also playing Silent Hill (stopped a few weeks ago) but that Piano puzzle was the hardest puzzle in the game so far and I think I’m near the end.

You know every time I hear people make fun of Nazi’s I always think of my grandfather who was drafted in Germany during WW2. Think of him every time a WW2 shooter comes out too.

The problem with Tomb Raider, is that you take a strong brave adventurous female character who is the main protagonist in a story, (one of the few you actually find in video games) And turn her into some 20 year old frightened girl that if, I’m quoting their marketing department correctly, “needs protecting”.

And yes I realize this is an origin story, where she is suppose to be made “stronger through her ordeals” but that is bullshit. Did young Nathan Drake seem frightened and vulnerable to you in Uncharted 3?

Bravery and and especially and adventuresome spirit are not things you pick up along the way, they have to be there from the start. There’s nothing about this young Lara that shows she possesses any of that.

Oh and truama does not make a person stronger, it breaks them, it does instill positive qualities into people, it does the exact opposite.

And to think this is the new Lara that Crystal Dynamics and Eidos thought would be more “Female Gamer Friendly” cause what, they made her less curvacious?

Granted it might be unfair to judge a game before it comes out. But this whole thing reeks of lazy story telling, bad marketing, and completely missing the point.

As a female gamer I think all this controversy is overrated. If Hitman trailer had men instead of women, nobody would bat an eye. And it seems like feminists have no sense of humor (I had no idea Lollipop Chainsaw was criticized like that, it’s just retarded). Honestly, this is getting ridiculous

I’d like to discuss female representation in video games and all that but I can’t come up with a decent argument so I’m just going to say that Leon is close enough.

Thanks for answering my question! I wasn’t asking for a specific number or anything like that, I just wanted to know if you guys had anything interesting to say about it (and you did in my opinion).

I’m really enjoying the podcast. Keep it up! :D

Johnny, if you liked Pandemic Games’ output, you have to check out the first two “Destroy All Humans” titles. They are absolutely incredible.

Actually, Sabouter did have a decent ad campaign. The problem was the game was in development for four years and was only released because it was at 90% completion, when EA releasing it because it was pretty much done.

And honestly, it didn’t sell well because it was reviewed mediocre, (75 average score apparently) and most complaints were against wonky A.I, bugs, and the fact that people are cynical now a days and play nothing new.

As I recall Pandemic was having problems before Saboteur and even before EA bought them, am I right? The second Mercenaries game suffered from a myriad of bugs, and a whole slew of other issues least of which being the online requirements.

I platinumed out both games, and while the second mercenaries was fun, I didn’t find it as good as the first one. And I felt that Saboteur just got a bit old after a while.

When you guys were talking about sequels I remembered a Homer Simpson moment my father once had: “Mario! That guy is still around?!?!”
