Everybody knows kongol is the best party member.

Apparently Sony’s been following me on on Twitter. Just today, President of SCE Worldwide Studios Shu Yoshida announced that The Legend of Dragoon is going to be available to download on May 1st, 2012. The Sony Computer Entertainment JRPG has a cult following (which includes myself), but has more or less languished in obscurity since the planned sequel was cancelled. Now we can all relive the adventures of Dart and friends, or experience it for the first time.

Does this mean that some of the great characters from the game will make it into Sony’s rumored cross-over fighter? I hope so. What I want even more though, is for the PS Vita to support PSone Classics. Why are we still waiting for that functionality? I’d be more upset, but, you know, The Legend of Dragoon.

Great Game, Fun story, Great Characters. Legend of Dragoon signifies the end of an era in RPG’s, I’m glad to see this coming to the PSN.

But here’s hoping they fix how they show XP anyone else ever get completely confused on whether you were close to leveling up.

Thank you for reminding me to repurchase this game.

:) Just got it today for 14 bucks. Not bad.

I’m still slowly reclaiming all my old games.

About freakin time, and I really hope dart or someone from the game gets in the Sony crossover, then from there a sequel, I know the team broke up but a new one can be made, I can dream.

And lol@ the comment below the screenshot(I know its not serious because of all caps), Kongol is so bad, against bosses definitely since he has crap magic defense and nearly all bosses use strong magic attacks and all that health he has is suddenly useless. I find it even more funny that he joins your party and the next boss is one of the most difficult magic focused boss in the game, almost like it was done to punish those who thought the game was going to be all easy-peasy cause of Kongol XD

“I still occasionally hear from fans of The Legend of Dragoon, and many want to know if there is a sequel. LOD2 was put into preproduction after I left the Japan Studio, but was eventually cancelled for some unknown reason, and the team members moved on to different projects.”

So much for a sequel though. :(

Is this just for American PSN or is it for Europe too? I’m tired of Americas PSN being better than ours. Especially considering all the games on the PS1 that never got a Europe release, those games are playable on all PS3 systems so I don’t see why they don’t put them on the European PSN. Legend of Dragoon even got a PAL release so I see no reason why to withhold it.

I’m glad this is going to be available. I still have the original discs, but disc 2 is slightly damaged and made the game freeze on my old PS. (Never let friends with younger siblings borrow your cd based games…) Not sure if it will read on my PS3, but it would be nice to be able to play the game without worrying about it. Plus being able to play it on my PSP would be nice too.
